2025 PG Puerto Rico National Showcase Qualifier
Luis Vargas-Lopez is a 2026 C/OF with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Añasco, PR who attends Central Pointe Christian. Thick and strong build. 7.56 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, is agile coming out of his crouch and gains ground well, repeats his mechanics, smooth transfers and release, makes very accurate throws, polished overall defensive actions. Switch-hitter at the plate, starts from a spread and open stance, has an uphill swing plane and is not on plane very long, best swings were when he stayed short and flatter through the zone, has the strength to develop as a hitter with adjustments. Good student, verbal commitment to St. Petersburg College.
