Simon Fernandez is a 2026 C with a 5-8 189 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Hamilton. Features a medium-sized build with some present strength and sneaky athleticism. Ran a 7.19 60-yd dash. Behind the plate, he flashed that athleticism during his throwdowns. Operates from a side-saddle set up and showed noticeably fast feet out the crouch that gain ground and set good direction/alignment towards 2nd. Efficient/compact exchange that got him to release quick as he used a short arm action that produced strong throws down to 2nd that were all accurate to the bag. Quality receiving skill as well. At the plate, he sits in a wider base and uses a simple heel raise trigger with smaller takeback of the hands. Balanced throughout his moves. Swing path worked more direct where he produced a fair amount of GBs and some flared pop ups. Inconsistent barrel feel shown during his BP round but there were flashes of above avg. bat speed and strength with a couple barrels he sent off the wall to the pullside.
