2025 PG Sophomore National Showcase (2028 Grads)
Francis Conners-Schmid is a 2028 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from East Chatham, NY who attends Hawthorne Valley. Very physical and strong build, especially in the lower half. Left handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a good shift into contact, busy hands in his load that can impact his timing, has big present bat speed and plus power potential, gets the ball in the air and creates big carry. 7.07 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, arm strength is his best defensive tool, creates plenty of carry on his throws, step by step actions through the ball and into his release. Also plays first base with some athleticism and throwing ability and can see this being his future position with work. Took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch with simple mechanics, clean arm stroke, short stride out front and is tall at release. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with some carry at the top of the zone. Curveball was a good pitch with some depth and a feel to locate down in the zone, shorted up on his curveball at times for more of a slider shape/look. Power is his carrying tool. Good student.
