2015 Top Prospects

Jake Dent  RHP - 2015 - Pinole, CA   Uncommitted

Big bodied right hander who has shown significant development over the past year and is now into the mid 80s with his fastball and pairs it with a sharp breaking ball.

Ray Soderman  C - 2015 - Danville, CA   Oregon

Showed a strong all-around tool set. Good release time and actions to catch and throw, solid in-game receiver, ran well (6.94 60 yard dash) and showed both strength and bat speed at the plate.

Mark Johnson  OF - 2015 - Vallejo, CA   Uncommitted

Impressive athlete, ran a 6.73 60 yard dash and went 4-for-5 with a pair of stolen bases and was a home run shy of the cycle in game at-bats.

Mark Quinby  OF - 2015 - Gilroy, CA   UC San Diego

Event best 88 mph velocity during the outfield workout and also showed an impressive combination of bat speed and strength at contact offensively.

Aj Curtis  3B - 2015 - Pleasanton, CA   Sacramento State

Best in-game power of the showcase, hit three balls very hard in games that came off the bat at 90+ mph, including one that was 95.

Brett DeGuess  RHP - 2015 - Pleasanton, CA   Uncommitted

Projectable frame and a quick arm, DeGuess sat 82-86 and has remaining projection. Sharp breaking ball and an advanced changeup round out a quality three pitch mix.

Kyle Mora  OF - 2015 - San Jose, CA   UC San Diego

Solid three pitch mix that included mid 80s fastball, low 70s curveball and low-mid 70s changeup. Clean arm action, good life on fastball and struck out six in four innings.

William Harris  OF - 2015 - Golden, CO   Abilene Christian

Impressive size/speed combination with a frame that projects for significant strength gains with natural physical maturity. Flashed potential with the bat and showed promising defensive ability in the outfield. Event best 6.60 60 yard dash time.

Jakob Davidson  C - 2015 - Pleasanton, CA   San Francisco

Put an exclamation point on strong showing by crushing the hardest hit ball of the event, a line drive that left the bat at 96 mph, in his final at-bat.

Dominic Defrancesco  RHP - 2015 - Firebaugh, CA   Uncommitted

Big and athletic with good potential on the mound. Ran fastball up to 84 with sharp angle from the third base side and a hard spinning mid 70s curveball.

Kyle Lucke  RHP - 2015 - El Dorado Hills, CA   UC San Diego

Fastball up to 85 mph and showed a tight slider in the mid 70s as well as a soft 12-6 curveball in his three shutout innings.

Isaiah Garcia  SS - 2015 - Lincoln, CA   Cal State Northridge

Ran a 6.78 60 yard dash and showed steady defensive ability in the infield in addition to pullside pop from a buggywhip swing.

Taylor Garcia  SS - 2015 - Folsom, CA   Westmont College

Loose swing with solid bat speed produced several hits in games and offensive tools project well.

Mitch Sancier  C - 2015 - Campbell, CA   Santa Barbara City College

Showed the strongest arm of the catcher workout, posting a 77 mph velocity on throwdowns to second base. Also showed good hitting tools, utilizing his lower half well to drive the ball deep into the gaps.

John Bergeson  OF - 2015 - Portola Valley, CA   Michigan

One of the top power hitters in attendance, good loose strength to his swing that allowed him to produce well with the bat in games.


2016 Top Prospects

Tim O'Dalaigh  OF - 2016 - San Lorenzo, CA   Uncommitted

Projectable all around tools, showed an impressive arm in the outfield workout and then got on the mound and showed good two-way ability by throwing quality strikes with a fastball up to 84 and a deep curveball. Swung the bat well and ran well.

Kyle Cuellar  2B - 2016 - Arcadia, CA   UCLA

Short compact stroke from the left side with solid bat speed and quick hands, big arm from the outfield (88 mph in OF workout) and was also up to 84 on the mound while going 3-for-5 at the plate in games.

Nick Carli  C - 2016 - Scotts Valley, CA   Uncommitted

Solid arm strength behind the plate and swung the bat well in games with a line drive stroke.

Carter Hayes  3B - 2016 - Carmel, CA   Pacific

Strong athletic young player with good offensive potential as he learns to translate that strength into power.

Roberto Diaz  SS - 2016 - Vallejo, CA   Uncommitted

Promising switch hitter with potential from both sides of the plate, swung it well in games and topped out at 81 mph on the mound.


2017 Top Prospects

Blake Harrison  OF - 2017 - Danville, CA   Pepperdine

Solid all around present tools and plenty of projection. Ran a 6.95 60 yard dash, threw 80 mph from the outfield and ran his fastball up to 83 on the mound.

Shane Dalton  OF - 2017 - Orinda, CA   Uncommitted

Swung the bat well in games ran a 7.13 60 yard dash.

Garrett McCarthy  OF - 2017 - San Carlos, CA   Uncommitted

Loose projectable swing and quick athletic actions, projects well.
