2015 Top Prospects

Charles Grant-DeBose  OF - 2015 - Torrance, CA   Bethany College (Kansas)

Showed good center field tools, made a highlight reel diving catch in right center and covered a lot of ground throughout the weekend. Has continued to make significant developmental progress across the board and is beginning to show some power and the hit tool development suggests it may be able to translate. If the progress continues he has a chance to become an exciting prospect.

Tyler Murray  C - 2015 - Huntington Beach, CA   Hawaii

Signature moment of the showcase came when he responded to a hit by pitch by hammering the next pitch he saw well over the left field fence. Showed good receiving ability and popped a 1.88 in between innings.

Timothy Nelson  SS - 2015 - Chino Hills, CA   UC San Diego

Ran his fastball up to 88 mph and imparted very good movement on all three pitches. His fastball featured hard late tailing action, he paired it with a 12-6 curveball with sharpness in the low 70s and flashed a nasty splitter. He also threw 88 mph across the infield in the defensive workout and ran a sub 7.0 60 yard dash and showed a good line drive swing.

Jonathan Buckley  RHP - 2015 - Chino, CA   St. Mary's

His 84-87 mph fastball is impressive and he has the ability to continue developing, but it was his upper 70s splitter with late dive that really stood out for the 6-foot-4 right hander.

Daniel Priwin  OF - 2015 - Sugar Land, TX   Uncommitted

One of the best all-around workouts of the event. Followed up a 6.89 60 yard dash time with an event best 89 mph throw from the outfield during the defensive workout and then had one of the best BP sessions.

Reid Lundeen  OF - 2015 - Laguna Niguel, CA   Uncommitted

Solid all around tools and performed well in games. Ran a 6.84 60 yard dash and threw 88 mph from the outfield and showed good offensive tools.

Brooks Stotler  SS - 2015 - Vista, CA   Long Beach State

Ran an event best 6.68 60 yard dash and continued to show that speed in games. Frequent contact in games and showed the ability to drive the ball in batting practice.

Nicholas Guaragna  SS - 2015 - Scottsdale, AZ   Uncommitted

High motor player who gets the most out of his quality tools. Impressive batting practice session showing with strong showing in games on both sides of the ball and highlighted by a hustle double on what would have been a single for most players.

Ryan Eastburn  OF - 2015 - Harbor City, CA   Utah Valley University

One of the top in-game performers, swung the bat well and highlighted his impressive offensive showing with a line drive that left the bat at 93 mph. Threw one of the event's best 88 mph from the outfield in the defensive workout.

Dickie Brown  2B - 2015 - Long Beach, CA   Uncommitted

Followed up running a 6.84 60 yard dash by picking up four hits in his five at-bats, showing good ability to hit from both sides of the plate.

Carter Kruse  3B - 2015 - Irvine, CA   Uncommitted

Switch hitter who showed ability to put the ball in play from both sides during games and ran a 6.88 60 yard dash.

Cole Heavilin  SS - 2015 - Vista, CA   Wagner

Highly polished player with high baseball IQ in every phase of the game. Advanced approach at the plate, good defensive instincts and solid all around tools.

Jacob Williams  OF - 2015 - West Hills, CA   Uncommitted

Projectable outfield prospect who showed solid ability all around with the potential for further across the board development.

Kyle Stewart  1B - 2015 - Ladera Ranch, CA   Navy

Combines good raw power with solid contact ability and sound defensive ability at first base.

Jairus Richards  SS - 2015 - Gig Harbor, WA   Uncommitted

Primary outfielder who showed an impressive arm defensively, and then took the mound and opened eyes by running his fastball up to 85 and paired it with a sharp breaking ball. Two-way player right now, and may have future on the mound.

2016 Top Prospects

Preston Price  RHP - 2016 - Vista, CA   Arizona

Ran his fastball up to 88 mph and paired it with a sharp 78 mph slider, struck out five of the six batters he faced in two perfect innings.

Vicente Ryan Mendoza  C - 2016 - Lake Balboa, CA   Long Beach State

Popped a 1.94 with a 76 mph catcher velocity in the workout, and showed equally impressive hitting tools from the left side.

Brady Shockey  3B - 2016 - Irvine, CA   Southern California

Showed big power potential at the plate from the left side in batting practice, chance to make an impact with the bat at the next level.

2017 Top Prospects

Jayson Gonzalez  MIF - 2017 - Covina, CA   Vanderbilt

Big physical infielder whose power lives up to the expectation that his imposing frame hints he is capable of. Where his strong build is deceptive is in his athleticism, ran a sub 7.0 60 yard dash and showed very good range defensively. Chance to be a high level player.
