2015 Top Prospects

Kyle Molnar  RHP - 2015 - Aliso Viejo, CA   UCLA

Fastball sat 89-91, cruised through three innings facing the minimum, got swings and misses not only by overpowering hitters with the fastball, but also by snapping off several nasty curveballs and has introduced a hard slider into his repertoire. Impressive OF tools/ability as well and could have made the top prospect list as an OF only.

Chris Betts  C - 2015 - Long Beach, CA   Tennessee

Tremendous power, ball explodes off of his bat. Strong arm from behind the plate. One of the top prospects in the 2015 class.

Jonathan Olsen  RHP - 2015 - Rancho Cucamonga, CA   UCLA

Hammer breaking ball and upper 80s fastball with hard sinking action and the ability to keep it down in the strike zone. Will get a lot of ground ball outs with his fastball and swings and misses on the curve.

Jordan Myrow  OF - 2015 - Sherman Oaks, CA   UCLA

High level combination of speed and power. Hit well in games against fastballs and offspeed stuff, showed good instincts on the bases as well. Strong arm, threw 90 mph from the outfield in the workout.

Kyle Hatton  1B - 2015 - Norco, CA   UC Santa Barbara

High level two-way prospect, typically sits in the mid-upper 80s on the mound but the lefty came to show his offensive ability at this event and swung the bat impressively.

Hazahel Quijada  LHP - 2015 - Highland, CA   UC Riverside

Up to 87 mph with the fastball, good tailing action to the arm side and showed command to both sides of the plate with fastball. Spun curveball well, shows good potential with that pitch, already missing bats with it, flashed solid changeup as well.

Luke Williams  OF - 2015 - Laguna Niguel, CA   Cal Poly

Swung the bat well in games and in BP. Ran a 6.96 60 yard dash and utilized that speed well in the outfield.

Karl Kani  3B - 2015 - Sherman Oaks, CA   Washington

Cooper Davis  OF - 2015 - Phoenix, AZ   Grand Canyon

Strong athletic infielder who shows good defensive ability and bat speed. Chance to develop into a high level infield prospect.

Marrick Crouse  RHP - 2015 - Dana Point, CA   Southern California

Interesting two-way player, stood out on the mound with mid 80s fastball with good downhill plane and showed command to both sides of the plate.

Dametri Evans  C - 2015 - Hemet, CA   Iowa

Good defensive ability behind the plate but arm also stood out on the mound in relief where he was up to 87 mph with hard running action in on the hands of right handers. Also swung the bat well with good raw power.

Alex Carrillo  3B - 2015 - West Covina, CA   Riverside CC

Quick loose arm, threw strikes downhill at 83-86, tight slider in the mid 70s with good tilt. Also swung the bat well.

Jack McGeagh  OF - 2015 - Pacific Paliasdes, CA   Pennsylvania

Ran well (6.89 60 yard dash), good bat speed from the left side, hit well in BP and in games.

Matt McGeagh  3B - 2015 - Pacific Palisades, CA   Pennsylvania

Solid infield arm and solid bat speed, interesting combination of tools to develop.

Timothy Nelson  SS - 2015 - Chino Hills, CA   UC San Diego

Showed very good bat to ball skills thanks to advanced feel for barrel and developing bat speed. Strong infield arm, good defensive actions, also mid 80s on the mound.

Cole Heavilin  SS - 2015 - Vista, CA   Wagner

Combined a high motor with advanced skill set to perform very well in game situations. Good defensive actions in middle infield, knows how to take control of his at-bats and drives the ball.

Christopher Brue  1B - 2015 - Hayward, CA   Uncommitted

Physical hitter with good raw power, drove the ball with authority in game at-bats.

John Mackay  C - 2015 - Ramona, CA   Uncommitted

Bat stood out in games, strong hands and can drive the ball well.

Sean Skelly  C - 2015 - Mission Viejo, CA   Tennessee

Strong arm, good catch and throw ability from behind the plate (posted 1.94 pop time with 80 mph velocity in catcher workout).

Jared Denning  C - 2015 - American Canyon, CA   Utah

Big physical hitter who showed ability to tap into his pullside pop in his live at-bats.

2016 Top Prospects

Will Proctor  SS - 2016 - Manhattan Beach, CA   Georgia

Threw 90 mph from the OF and showed ability to translate his emerging raw power into game action. Swung the bat well, also pitched and was up to 85 mph.

Blake Sabol  C - 2016 - Aliso Niguel, CA   Southern California

High level hitting tools, big power potential. Athletic for size, runs well for a player with C/1B defensive profile.

Christopher Lincoln  RHP - 2016 - Moreno Valley, CA   UC Santa Barbara

Very loose projectable arm action, easy low 80s velocity with more to come. High ceiling.

Christian Moya  OF - 2016 - Diamond Bar, CA   Southern California

Best 60 yard dash time of the event (6.78), covered good ground in the outfield, strong OF arm. Swung the bat well in games, high level 2016 prospect.

Griffen Herrera  OF - 2016 - Glendora, CA   Azusa Pacific

High ceiling prospect, good bat speed with a chance to develop power to go with solid defensive ability in OF.

Isaak Gutierrez  RHP - 2016 - Norwalk, CA   Bethune-Cookman

Good fastball/changeup combination, mixes them well. Good movement on low-mid 80s fastball, good arm speed and deception on the changeup, solid curveball as well. Also swung the bat well.

Holden Groff  RHP - 2016 - Pasadena, CA   UC Santa Barbara

Well rounded player; threw 90 mph from the OF, ran a 7.00 60 yard dash, swung the bat well in games, threw strikes at 80-83 mph.

Julian McDonald  RHP - 2016 - Carlsbad, CA   Uncommitted

Loose projectable arm action, fastball up to 84. Commanded three pitch mix well, impressive changeup and showed some pitchability. Also handled the bat well.

Jordan Prendiz  OF - 2016 - Visalia, CA   UCLA

Ran well (6.91 60 yard dash time) showed athletic swing actions from the left side, interesting OF prospect to watch.

John Glenn  1B - 2016 - Thousand Oaks, CA   California Baptist

Strong hands, ball comes off barrel hard, consistent contact in games.

Greg Lamb  SS - 2016 - Orange, CA   Sacramento State

Whips barrel through the hitting zone well, ball carries well off the bat.

2017 Top Prospects

Kyle Hurt  RHP - 2017 - Rancho Santa Fe, CA   Southern California

Very impressive command and pitchability for a freshman, up to 84 with the fastball with good tailing action and feel for location. Solid secondary stuff already and also swung the bat well. Interesting young prospect to follow.

Charles Nies  RHP - 2017 - Coto De Caza, CA   Uncommitted

Fastball up to 85 mph from a short quick arm action, very interesting young prospect to follow.
