Martin Alva (2026 C, Odessa, TX) picked up a line drive double down the right field line on a fastball in his first at bat. Short swing takes what he’s given and shooting the ball the other way for a triple. He followed that up with another knock in his next at bat lacing a ball over the shortstops head for a single. 

Jonathan Malchow (2024 RHP, Argyle, TX) worked three quick innings with the fastball living in the low to mid 80’s throughout. The arm side run gives him some life though the zone and helps to set up the off speed. He also landed his slider for strikes showing as his best offering with spin rates consistently over 2500 rpm creating plenty of swing and miss with the late break. 

Connor Hill (2024 1B, Rowlett, TX) worked two quick innings on the mound with some deception to the delivery. He was able to get ahead in counts with his fastball and did a nice job of letting his defense work behind him. At the plate he added a sharp single into right center field to plate a run.  

Truett Claffey (2025 OF, Southlake, TX) got his day at the plate started with a double to left field down the line. He was able to get his hands to the inside part of the ball and keep it inside the third base for extra bases as he cruised into second with a double. 

Brance Farrell (2024 C, Needville, TX) put a solid swing on a ball in his first at bat and doubled off the right center field wall on a ringing line drive. He showed good intent to the swing, getting on top of a ball at the top of the zone and one hopping the wall.

Brendon Gleim (2026 OF, Euless, TX) smoked a line drive single into left field on a low 80’s fastball. he did a nice job of maintaining the barrel plane through the top of the zone to get on top of the elevated pitch and square it up creating some loud contact.

Clint Hennig (2025 3B, Trophy Club, TX) opened up the scoring with a single into center field on a fastball as he was able to get the bat head to the bottom of the zone out front and drive the ball back through the box. He also showed some heads up baserunning, taking the extra base on the throw as well as a good dirt ball read to get himself to third base. 

Ross Norman (2025 1B, Little Elm, TX) worked two solid innings on the mound with the fastball topping out at 86 mph. He lived in the mid 80’s predominantly throughout the two innings with a good jump out of the hand on the heater. He paired the fastball with a mid 70’s breaking ball and changeup tow round out the three pitch mix.

Nash Hornberger (2026 OF, Dallas, TX) had a solid day at the plate, starting with a barrel into center field for a single. He followed that up with another hit into center field in his next at bat. His ability to be on time with the barrel with good balance to the swing while staying on plane through the hitting zone gives him a good chance when using the big part of the field. 

Dominic Gerster (2025 C, Prosper, TX) picked up an extra base knock in his first at bat with a ball down the right field line that found its way to the corner. Once on the bases he was able to show some speed as he took the extra base to get to third and scored on a sac fly. 

Colton Thorpe (2025 SS, Keller, TX) showcased his arm talent on the mound with some giddy up on the fastball as he topped out at 82 mph while some life that held the plane well through the zone. The breaking ball off the fastball was effective in inducing some swing and miss as he was able to create downer shape getting hitters to swing over the top. He also added two hits at the plate on the day to round out a solid weekend. 

Mason Owens (2025 OF, Melissa, TX) showed some good traits on his fastball over his two innings on the mound as he topped out at 83 mph. The fastball shows some carry through the zone from his long fluid arm action and sets up the slider well with its horizontal bite. Offensively he added a knock at the plate to cap off a quality showing. 

Elijah Webber (2026 RHP, Boyd, TX) picked up a knock in game one of day two driving in a run for the Gold team on a single to left field. He also showcased his athleticism behind the plate with solid lateral movement and an ability to work well out of the crouch with some twitch.
