Game Highlights: 2-Green Vs. 1-Columbia Blue

Preston Bielec (2026, 3B/RHP, Boca Raton, FL) got the scoring going for the Columbia team, ripping a double down the LF line. Solid bat speed with good juice in the bat.

Trey Dooley (2024, RHP/UT, Camden, TN) showed off the juice with a loud double over the left fielder's head for a stand-up double. Dooley continues to impress over the weekend at the plate.

Christian Fontaine (2026, OF/LHP, Miami, FL) swung the stick well, picking up a base hit to LF. Showed good bat control and the ability to go to the opposite field.

Game Highlights: 3-Orange Vs. 2-Green

James Dolley (2025, C/3B/RHP, Wildwood, MO) showed good feel for both FB/SL mix in his 2 innings of work. FB worked 78-80 T 81 mph complemented with a sweepy slider at 71-72 mph. Grabbed himself a base knock at the plate as well with a single to CF.

Vincent Petrone (2025, SS/RHP, Woodstock, VT) cruised through 2 innings of work showing confidence with the FB/CB mix. Pitched 2 innings giving up 1 hit and striking out 2. Also grabbed a base knock for himself with a single to CF.

Derek Datil (2024, OF/RHP, Sabana Hoyos, PR) has picked up a couple infield hits over the weekend showing off plus speed on the base paths. Has stolen 2 bags and advanced on bad
pitches multiple times.

Anthony Carrea (2025, SS/RHP/2B, Midland Park, NJ) started the game going 3.0 innings allowing 2 hits 0 runs, and struck out 4 in the process. Carrea showed great feel for the zone getting ahead early with both FB/CB mix. FB sat 70-75 mph while CB sat 61-64 mph w/ 11-5 shape.

Lenin Nuñez (2024, RHP/UT, Miami, FL) was impressive in his one inning of work striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced strictly throwing FB/SK. Good life to FB sitting 86-87 T 88mph and throwing tons of strikes.

Trey Dooley (2024, RHP/UT, Camden, TN) picked up another base hit to LF turning on a FB with good bat speed and barrel control.

Alejandro Porta (2026, RHP/MIF/3B, Homestead, FL) had a solid showing in Game 1 picking a hard-hit single to LF. On the mound, threw a scoreless inning striking out 1 batter with FB sitting
72-74 mph.

Nicholas Palmi (2024, SS/RHP/MIF, Saint Cloud, FL) was nothing short of impressive in his one inning of work. Palmi showed a variety of different looks from over-the-top slot to sidearm. FB showed tons of life from both slots 87-90 mph over the top and 85-86 mph from the lower slot. Complemented well w/ sharp 11-5 breaker as swing and miss pitch. Struck out all 3 batters in one inning of work. High follow as he swings it with some juice as well from both sides of the plate.

Jon Gourrier (2025, RHP/OF, Miami, FL) pitched 3 innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. Found success commanding the zone well with 2 pitch mix in FB/SL. FB sat 77-81 T 82 mph with 10-4 SL was 66-69 mph.

Benjamin Mendez (2025 SS, Cordova, TN) showed good pop in the bat with a loud double over the CF head.

Andrew Allison (2024, RHP/3B/MIF, Coral Springs, FL) solid two innings on the bump running his FB up to 83 mph while sitting 79-82 mph mostly. Big sweeping SL to go along with FB. Super quick arm with more in the tank as he matures and strengthens.

Alejandro Porta (2026, RHP/UT, Homestead, FL) showed good juice to the pull side of the field turning on a FB down the LF line for a stand-up double.

Sebastian Rivera (2024, C/OF, Las Pierdas, PR) also found a loud base knock late in the game, turning on a FB down the LF line for a stand-up double to end the game. Physical player with
good pop in the bat.

Trey Dooley (2024, RHP/UT, Camden, TN) had himself a solid start to Game 2 pitching 3 innings allowing only 1 hit and 0 runs, and struck out 6 along the way. Dooley flashed a 3 pitch mix mostly consisting of FB/CB. FB showed good life sitting 81-84 T85 mph w/ CB 73-75 with tight break. Tons of swings and misses throughout outing on both FB and CB.

Luca Candella (2026, RHP/2B/OF, Ponte Verda, FL) also another solid start for Green in game 2 pitching 2.2 innings allowing 0 hits 0 runs and striking out 5 in the process. Candella filled up the zone with the entire arsenal getting ahead of hitters and putting them away late. FB 72-77 T78mph with CB 60-64 mph.

Connor Re (2025, UT/C, Boca Raton, FL) had a solid showing at the plate picking up 2 base hits including a loud barreled single to CF. Good juice in the bat and good feel for barrel, showing out in-game and his round of BP as well.

Micah Gratto (2025, UT/RHP, Gainesville, FL) picked up 2 hits for the Green team as well with two singles. Showed comfort in going to the opposite field with a base knock to RF.

Kyle Fernandes (2025, LHP/1B/OF, Plantation, FL) solid outing for Orange going 3 innings allowing 4 hits 1 run while striking out 5 in the process. Flashed 3 pitch mix and showed advanced feel for CH getting weak contact and swings and misses. FB sat 79-82 mph w/ 2-7 CB that also got swings and misses throughout the outing.

Trey Dooley (2024, UT/RHP, Camden, TN) turned on a FB for a line drive single over the shortstops head. Solid BP showing and rolled it into the game.

Derek Datil (2024, OF/RHP, Sabana Hoyos, PR) picked up 2 base knocks in the game w/ a single to LF and CF. Showed off some speed on the base paths swiping third base.

Ellington Hodge (2024, RHP/UT, Avondale Estates, GA) displayed a solid 3 pitch mix in FB/CH/CB. FB had decent life sitting 81-84 T86 mph w/ 11-5 breaker sitting 70-72 mph. CH showed late depth and proved to be a solid swing-and-miss pitch along with CB. Struck out 4 in 1.2 innings.

2023 National Underclass East Showcase Batting Practice Highlights

Johnny Badala (2026, Nokomis, Fla.) had a solid round of BP, being able to stay on the barrel and produce some good contact. He impacted balls well pull-side with some good line drives. Projectable actions in the box with a good feel for the barrel.

 

Ellington Hodge (2024, Avondale Estates, Ga.) showed off an athletic look in the batter’s box during his round of BP. Had some good bat speed with the ability to produce hard-hit line drives. Worked the middle of the field with great contact, being on the barrel. A couple of pull-side knocks mixed in his round as well.

 

Everett Marshall (2025, Lighthouse Point, Fla.) was another player with an athletic look. Used a leg-lift, closing up to get on time and drive pitches. Had great control of the barrel with good accuracy. Drove the ball well pull-side with some strength at impact. Impressive round of BP with hitter-ish actions in the box.

 

Lenin Nuñez (Miami, Fla.) swung the bat well from both sides of the plate. He had strength in the swing with bat speed present. Impacted the ball well and nearly left the yard pull-side as a righty, hitting the top of the wall in the air after lifting it with strength behind it. 

 

Nicholas Palmi (2024, Saint Cloud, Fla.) had a solid round of BP, almost leaving the yard on his first swing of the day. The switch-hitter was impressive from both sides but was able to unload on pitches from the left side. Good strength with a pull-side approach, fantastic round top-to-bottom.

 

Connor Re (2025, Boca Raton, Fla.) was able to get on the barrel and drive the ball well. The right-hander had some strength at impact and was able to work the opposite-field gap quite well during his round of BP.

 

Carsan Strolla (2024, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.) worked the whole field during his round of BP, including a home run pull-side, lifting it beyond the wall in left. Strolla used an inward stride with some strength present. Worked the opposite field gap. 

 

Logan Summers (2024, High Springs, Fla.) had a wide base and showed off the strength to barrel balls up during his round of BP. Worked pull-side mostly and was able to get the barrel to it with the hands out front and strength in the frame. Fantastic round from the right-handed hitter.

 

Derek Datil (2024, Sabana Hoyos, P.R.) had an exceptional round of BP, showing off some strength from the left side. He had some bat speed and was able lift the ball, especially pull-side. Good turns as he swung with a great round top-to-bottom.

 

Kyle Fernandes (2025, Plantation, Fla.) worked from an upright stance, working pull-side with the ball coming off well. The left-handed hitter produced solid line drives during the round of BP with fluid actions.


Sebastian Negron (2024, Albonito, P.R.) swung it well from the right side during his round of BP with some strength in the frame, working well to the pull-side gap. Pieced together a quality round with good control of the barrel showing.
