2-Green vs. 1-Black Game Highlights

1/14/2023

Hayes Harrison (2023, Oxford, Ala.) was impressive on the mound, working up to 82 mph on the fastball and mixing his pitches well. The fastball had some arm side run to it and helped him get the job done. The changeup is 70-72 mph, killing spin on the pitch. His breaking ball was softer with a 1-to-7 break and was still able to fool the opposition. Northwest-Shoals CC commit.

Alex Valentin (2023, Hollywood, Fla.) came out and worked in the upper-80s, getting up to 92 mph on the fastball. The fastball had sink and he paired that with a good slider that had depth and froze hitters. He also debuted a changeup later in the outing and settled in very nicely. University of Miami commit.

Sam Robertson (2023, Anniston, Ala.) had a good day at the plate. He added two base hits after jumping on a fastball and lacing it into left field. Dropped it in for a single. Robertson also drove one up the middle for a base knock. Two solid hits from the right-handed bat. In his third at-bat, Robertson hustled out an infield single, barreling one up deep into the 6-hole. He continues to find ways to get on base. Auburn commit.

Peyton Watts (2023, Oxford, Ala.)  gets it done once again. He jumps on a fastball with two strikes and drives it up the middle for a base hit. Lined his first single into right field. In his third at-bat, Watts jumped on a first-pitch fastball as he clobbered one into right field, seeing it down as it rolled to the wall. Hustled out a triple on that swing. He’s 5-for-5 at the plate during the showcase. Also jumped on the mound and worked 85-85 mph on the fastball. Mixed in a changeup in the upper-70s as well. He managed 2 solid innings of work on the mound. Allowed just 1 hit while punching out 2 opposing hitters. Troy commit.

Tony Konopiots (2023, Downers Grove, Ill.) had 2 hits during the game, finding ways on pace in both of his at-bats. In his first at-bat, he was able to drive one hard into left field, lacing a line drive into the outfield. Picked up an RBI on that swing as well. In his second at-bat, Konopiots was able to pick up a double. He got the barrel to a fastball and saw it down just inside fair territory down the left-field line. Hustled to second with an extra-base hit. West Virginia commit.
