7-Maroon vs. 8-Navy Game Highlights

Mason Moore (2025, Mesa, AZ) continued to show a loud bat at the plate, driving a double into the left-center to bring in a run. A strong frame generates quality in-game power. Moore also showed two-way potential with a strong outing on the mound. 


Evan Hanish (2025, Scottsdale, AZ) impressed during his start on the bump. The righthander struck out all six hitters he faced, running the fastball up to 77 mph. 


Davis Perkins (2025, Southlake, TX) showcased an impressive pitch mix on the mound. The fastball worked up to 85 mph with a tight, low-70’s slider with spin rates over 2500 rpm. 


Jaiden Tafoya (2024, Phoenix, AZ) displayed impressive strength on a loud double to deep left field. Strong hands at contact combine with a lofted path to produce quality pullside power. 


Jack Ohman (2024, Mesa, AZ) showcased strong stuff in relief, overpowering hitters and missing bats often. The righthander ran the fastball up to 89 mph and showed developing feel for a breaking ball. 


Gunnar Penzkover (2024, Phoenix, AZ) displayed an intriguing mix of power and speed on an inside-the-park homerun to right field. Loose hands create quality barrel whip that allows balls to be driven well to all fields. 


Jack Fuller (2025, Southlake, TX) found a loud barrel on a deep triple to the right-center field gap. The left-handed slugger shows the ability to get the bat head out front and drive balls with authority to the pullside. 


Royal vs. Gray Highlights

1/8/2023

Noah Massey (2025 Albuquerque, NM) was solid on the bump and has traits on both sides. Fastball topped 83 from an easy three-quarter release and looser arm circle through the back. Takes some off a real quality fading changeup. Switch hitter with feel on both sides. 

Grady Pratt (2026 Gilbert, AZ) put a good swing on a 2-2 fastball in a left on left at-bat. He stung it to the pull side and stretched it for extra bags. Good set of hands, really solid BP has showed in game. 

Kale Thorson (2026 Queen Creek, AZ) striped one back up the middle for an impressive pair of base hits. Quick hands match plane, good rhythm and timing at the plate. Also hopped on the bump and filled up the zone. Very talented two-way for the class. 

Boyd Kay (2024,Castle Rock, CO) put together real quality swings in looks. He stung one back up the middle for a knock. Good extension and sees it deep. Works counts and trusts both halves. Hitterish traits. 

6-Gray Vs. 7-Maroon

1/7/2023

Adolpho Pacheco (2025 C, Laveen, AZ) Smaller, durable frame with strong lower half. The switch-hitting catcher worked himself into a good hitters count with a quality AB. Took a FB offering and squared it up for a 1B.

 

Davis Perkins (2025 INF, Southlake, TX) Pounded a line-drive double in the gap for an RBI. Excellent bat speed. Good looking player

 

Tait Reynolds (2026 OF, Queen Creek, AZ) Strong, athletic frame. The ASU commit took what he was given and shot a line-drive 1B to RF for an RBI single. A quality AB. Added a 1B in his 2nd AB. Plus runner.

 

Grady Pratt (2026 3B, Gilbert, AZ) Squared one up and shot in the opposite LCF gap for a double. Added a HR in the RCF gap. Ball got out in a hurry. Excellent runner.

 

Boyd Kay (2024 SS, Castle Rock, CO) Athletic frame. Worked a quality AB and produced a line-drive single up the middle. 

 

Preston Armstrong (2025 C, Goodyear, AZ) Large, mature, strong, athletic frame with high waist and muscular lower half. Switch hitter from the right side squared up a single to the pull side. Has over the fence power potential. Good looking player. 

 

Parker Asturi (2024 C, Lewisville, TX) One of the loudest and hard-hit balls on the day.  Squared up a ball torched it on a line, over the center fielders head, short hopping the wall. Shows over the fence power potential. 

 

Robert Sahuaqui (2024 3B/1B, Laveen, AZ) Larger frame. Robert worked a quality AB and shot a single in the opposite RCF gap. 

 

Jax Copeland (2024 UTL, Litchfield Park, AZ) Smaller, athletic frame. Took the first pitch he saw in his 2nd AB and squared up a single through the 4-hole. Good runner. 

 

Ethan Melius (2025 OF, Auburn, WA) Large frame. Worked a quality AB into his favor and legged an infield single out in the 6-hole. Made an excellent sliding catch in RF on a bloop hit. Good range.

 

Logan Carney (2024 1B/OF, Mesa, AZ) Large, athletic frame. Logan worked a quality AB and took a FB offering right back up the middle for a line-drive single. Stole 2B on the next pitch. Advanced to 3rd base on a heads-up sacrifice F9 flyball. Good runner underway. 

8-Navy vs. 9-Royal Game Highlights

1/7/2023

Roman Bartosh (2026, Martinez, CA) got things started with a hard hit single right back up the middle. A simple swing showed the ability to get the barrel on plane early with good extension out front. 


Eli Kokenge (2025, Sioux Falls, SD) displayed the ability to get the bat head out front on a base hit to left field. A short, compact path to contact, generating quality pullside contact often. 


Jack Ohman (2024, Mesa, AZ) put together a quality swing on a hard hit single back up the middle. Ohman immediately showed off solid wheels with a stolen base. 


Alejandro Coronado (2025, Lake Havasu City, AZ) showed off the ability to use a strong, mature frame on a loud double to right-center field to bring in the first run of the game. 


Mason Moore (2025, Mesa, AZ) hammered a ball to deep right-center field for a loud RBI triple. A strong frame and advanced barrel feel help generate har chit contact often. 


Kingston Kissell (2026, Buena Park, CA) recorded his second knock of the day with a hard hit single to left field. Quick hands turn on the inside pitch well, allowing the bat head to get out front. 


Kason Syverson (2025, Sioux Falls, SD) hammered a ball to deep right-center field for a double. A strong, mature frame generates quality power to all fields with more coming down the line.

2023 National Underclass West Showcase

Preston Armstrong (2025 Goodyear, AZ) has big bat speed and strength that plays to pull. He’s a physical presence and switch hitter with projectable power the plays to both gaps. Very solid round. 

 

Grady Pratt (2026 Gilbert, AZ) showed a lot to like from a lefty path. Big bat speed and strength to pull, turning the barrel over nicely. Good frame with more in store. Has the athletic traits to build upon offensively. 

 

Gavin Short (2024 Phoenix AZ) showed solid pull-side turns with good barrel control. Solid timing and looked awfully comfortable turning on some. Good pull-side contact and the hands work. 

 

Aubrey Peterson (2025 Arlington, TX) showed good extension out front with enough strength to barrel some in his round. He sprayed hard to the gaps with good intent in the path. Physical presence with strength that stood out. 

 

Tait Reynolds (2026 Queen Creek AZ) has advanced hand speed and loud impact off the barrel. Sprays hard to both gaps with tons of strength coming off. Athletic product with huge upside. 

 

Miguel Cabrera Diaz (2026 Redwood City, CA) sound path with good strength off the barrel. Good plays to both gaps and has a solid set of hands. Works it out front and gets a good swing off consistently.

 

Logan Carney (2024 Mesa, AZ) was solid in his round. Simple, repeatable path with some torque. Good feel for both gaps, hitterish look with lots to like in the frame. Controls levers well and has some traits to work with. 

 

Tyler Brazil (2024 San Marcos, CA) works well from a deep uncoiled load. It’s good power to the pull-side gap from a strong build. Good backspin and carry in the path and the power showed up. 

 

Luis Mejia (2026 Phoenix, AZ) is an athletic product with a looser path and good bat speed. The hands work well and quick with solid feel for the barrel. He’s a standout for his age. 

 

Mason Moore (2025 Mesa, AZ) stung both gaps in an impressive round. Hard pull-side turns and the strength in the path can play a bit. Physical frame that showed well in the box. 

 

Jack Ohman (2024 Mesa, AZ) showed big intent to the pull side in his round. Bat speed and strength combination was solid and his feel for the barrel was on display. 

 

Ryan Hubbard (2026 El Dorado Hills, CA) showed some advanced bat speed with quick hands and pull-side sprays to the gap. Good traits from a shorter path and the hands work. Get on time and on pane. 

 

Noah Massey (2025 Albuquerque, NM) has a lot to like at the plate. Clean path with good extension. Bat speed and jump off the barrel stood out. Hard pull-side line drives and was in control. The hand-eye and overall feel should show in game.
