7- Purple vs. 10- White Game Highlights

Caleb Ellard (2021 OF, Rome, GA) - displayed his hitting skills throughout the game with two doubles to the LCF wall. He has an extremely projectable build. 

Ryan Campbell (2022 OF, Cumming, GA) - went 2 for 2 in the game while looking extremely comfortable tracking of speed pitches. He showed good strength and good barrel awareness. 

Hunter Justice (2022 3B, Jasper, GA) - showcased his athleticism and compact swing during the game with a solid ability to protect the plate with two strikes. He went 1 for 2 with a double down the left field line. 

Hank Smith (2022 C, Cartersville, GA) - had a great day at the play with a double and a single. He displayed the willingness to drive the ball to all parts of the field with his quick and level bat. 

Joel Presley (2022 2B, Ray City, GA) - showcased his wiry strength during the game as he went 1 for 3 with a loud double down the left field line. 

Craig Kalkbrenner (2024 SS, Kennesaw, GA) - displayed his feel in the box today with good at bats and patience. He went 2 for 3 with long triple and a single to LF. He also showed good awareness and baserunning ability 

Tyler Glasgow (2023 1B, Austell, GA) - showed some pull side pop with a double down the left field line in his last at bat of the day.

3-Gold vs. 5-Gray Highlights

8/9/2020

Jack Butler (2022 RHP, Marietta, GA) has shown some of the best command of the strike zone at the event with a fastball ranging from 82-85 mph and a sharp curveball. He tunnels the breaking ball well and lands it in the lower third consistently. He struck out 6 hitters in 4 innings pitched. 

Michael Mullinax (2024 OF, Canton, GA) collected hits from both sides of the plate in the contest. Mullinax is a quick-twitch outfielder with good hand speed in the box from both sides of the plate and did a great job of getting the bat head to the ball today.

Tyson Roberson (2022 1B, Powder Springs, GA) has an excellent pitcher’s frame and uses it to work 79-82 mph with a big downward 12-6 curveball. Roberson has a long arm action and when in the struck zone is a very tough hitter to face as the ball comes from such a high vertical axis.

Benjy Tucker (2022 3B, Milton, GA) topped out at 88 mph which was also the best velocity of the tournament. Tucker has a strong lower half and real arm strength that gets the fastball into the upper-80s with a feel for the strike zone. 

 

Andy Watters (2024 LHP, Marietta, GA) has a compact frame and swing that he got the head out on for a double to the opposite field. Watters turned the barrel over on an 86 mph fastball and lifted it to left field for the two-bagger.

 

Luke Orfi (2023 SS, Cumming, GA), after a walk, tripled the other way getting the hands inside and lacing a liner to the oppo gap. Orfi has had a really strong performance in two games at the plate and continued that Sunday.

 

Boston Forbes (2022 C, Marietta, GA) is a tall and athletic framed kid who ripped a double down the line on an inner half curveball. Forbes showed off the pop in his barrel during batting practice yesterday and showed that he can smoke balls in game action with a short and strong swing. 

 

Will Merrix (2022 OF, Tallahassee, FL) has some serious hand speed at the plate. Merrix has plenty of twitch to his game as he ran the best 60 yard dash at 6.55 seconds and muscled a ball off of the left field wall for a hard double. He also hopped on the mound in the last inning and topped out at 85 mph.

 

Mason Compton (2023 RHP, Buford, GA) threw a ton of strikes during his outing sitting 79-82 mph. He pounded the lower third with the fastball and featured a 12-6 curveball as well as a changeup that made for a solid 3 pitch mix. Compton struck out 4 in his 2 innings of work. 

 

John Cooper Williams (2023 OF, Woodstock, GA) has some of the loudest tools at the East Cobb Showcase and he just missed a homerun in game action Sunday afternoon. Williams jumped on the first pitch he saw and lifted a high fly ball for a triple to right field.

 

Charlie Jones (2022 1B, Cumming, GA) knocked a double down the pull side line and immediately stole third as well. Jones has a confident approach in the box with plenty of strength at the plate. 

 

Kain Collins (2022 OF, Kingston, TN) uses his speed to impact the game on the bases and in the outfield. A 6.55 second runner, Collins, knocked a pair of singles in the game and collected a stolen base as well. 

2- Columbia Blue vs. 6- Navy Game Highlights

Brian Rivera (2024 3B, Kennesaw, GA) - went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and a stolen base. He showcased a good solid stroke and good plate coverage. He made consistent, hard contact throughout the game.

Liam Bunde (2023 MIF, Sandy Springs, GA) - displayed his toughness and energy with a hit and a couple of stolen bases. He hustled all game and showcased a gamer mentality as well as a short compact swing. 

Tate Strickland (2024 RHP, Powder Springs, GA) - had good day on the mound, striking out 5 in his 3 innings of work and sitting 77-81 with his FB. His fastball has natural cut action to it and his breaking ball was 11/5. He showed his ability to pitch with good mechanics and the ability to spot up in the zone. 

Stephen Moraski (2021 RHP, Birmingham, AL) - showcased his ability to hit with a double and an inside the park HR. He made loud contact with a sound approach and quick hands and bat speed. 

Brady Kluse (2024 OF, Acworth, GA)  -  displayed some pop with a double to the LCF gap in his second AB. He has some leverage in his swing as well as the ability to scoot around the base paths. 

Eric Fouraker Jr (2022 C, Bryceville, FL) - smoked a ground rule double in his last at bat of the day. The ball jumps off his bat and he has a lot of strength in his swing.

Jason Walk (2023 MIF, Acworth, GA) - displayed a fluid, smooth stroke at the plate. He roped a triple to the gap in LCF in his final plate appearance of the day.

Benjamin Norton (2021 SS, Marietta, GA) - showcased his skills on the mound and at the plate during the game with a double and 2 IP without allowing a hit. He sat 83-84 with his FB while showing an over the top and side arm delivery. 

Max Beck Berendsen (2021 OF, Marietta, GA) - displayed his hustle and aggressiveness throughout the game by stealing third and home. He also hustled out a double and played hard throughout the game.  

Ellington Hodge (2024 SS, Decatur, GA) - showed a strong ability to get on base and put the ball in play.  He his a single in his first at bat and reached on errors in his final 2 ABs. 

8- Red vs. 9- Royal Game Highlights

8/9/2020

Cole Brewer (2022 RHP, Douglasville, GA) - impressed on the mound in his four innings of work without allowing a hit and striking out 7. His fastball sat 78-82 and he worked off that with a good curveball and changeup. He attacked hitters all game and showed advanced pitchability. He also recored a hit at the plate. 

Garrett Dropp (2022 SS, Woodstock, GA) - had a great day at the plate with 3 hits including a loud triple to LCF. He had comfortable takes in all of his at bats and displayed the ability to fight off pitches around the zone. 

Andrew Bray (2022 2B, Marietta, GA) - showed this strength by roping a double in his first at bat of the day. He has a patient approach and showed good control the barrel. 

Ryan Combs (2022 OF, Roswell, GA) - displayed his pop and speed with a double in his first at bat. He showed off his loose hands with a bat path that kept the barrel in the zone for a long time. 

Batting Practice Highlights

8/8/2020

Max Beck Berendsen (2021 OF, Marietta, GA) used his strong lower half and simple swing to produce barrel whip as well as a feel for the barrel to spray the ball hard during his round.

Stephen Moraski (2021 RHP, Birmingham, AL) may be listed as a primary pitcher but that didn't stop him from showcasing some of the top barrel skills of the event. Moraski has a longer swing that plays well to barrel the baseball with loud contact. 

Eric Fouraker Jr (2022 C, Bryceville, FL) has plenty of bat speed in his swing. Fouraker is a physical presence in the righthanded box and showed plenty of carry to the pull side when squared.

Michael Mullinax (2024 OF, Canton, GA) has bat speed from both sides of the plate while showing a promising round from the left side in this look. The ball comes off his barrel hard already and projects so well with added strength.

Boston Forbes (2023 C, Marietta, GA) showcased his power potential at the plate with a ground-rule double and a bomb in BP. Forbes has quickness to his hands and a present lift to his swing path.

Preston Murphy (2022 C, Miramar Beach, FL) has a spread out stance with a strong build that has the ability to barrel the ball with strength at impact. 

Caleb Ellard (2021 OF, Rome, GA) is a physical presence at the plate at 6-3/210 and he muscles the ball to the pull side with serious juice. Ellard had a loud summer at the plate and this round on Saturday was no different including a long bomb.

Brian Hardaway (2022 OF, Atlanta, GA) has present quick-twitch to his game and it shows in the way his hands work to the baseball. Hardaway consistently hit the ball on the barrel and projects very well with more strength added. 

Evan Graham (2022 SS, Woodstock, GA) meets the baseball out in front consistently and the ball comes off well. Graham showed feel for the barrel with a lift to his swing path.

Cayden Sheffield (2024 C, Acworth, GA) played pepper with the high wall in left field squaring the ball up hard. Sheffield is one of the younger players at the event and has plenty to like and project on his swing included a lift to his plane and the ability to generate back spin.

Abe Cagle (2021 1B, Alpharetta, GA) took a really good round of BP with strength to his swing and wrists with the ability to get the bat head out and drive the ball from gap to gap. 

Darren Willis (2022 MIF, Lizella, GA) has a pretty compact swing with real juice and bat speed. The hands are very fast and has lots to like in the righthanded box.

Taylor Harris (2022 OF, Woodstock, GA) also has a compact swing with simplicity to it. Harris shows some jump to the gaps and really wore out the oppo gap during his round.

Charlie Jones (2022 1B, Cumming, GA) showed some of the top power of the day with a downhill and short stroke. The strength is real in Jones's swing that included a bomb and a pair of wall bangers.

Tyson Roberson (2022 1B, Powder Springs, GA) along with Jones had some of the top power of the day. Roberson, from the left side, has outstanding strength combined with real bat speed that produced very hard and loud contact to the pull side.

7-Purple vs. 8-Red Game Highlights

Caleb Ellard (2021 OF, Rome, GA) Displayed tremendous two-way ability throughout. Capable of driving the ball to all parts of the field, scorching an double into the gap and then swiping third base without a throw. Followed that with one hitless inning on the mound, filling up the zone on the mound and running his fastball up to 84.

Christian Baker (2023 2B, Douglasville, GA) Showcased an advanced feel for the barrel, squaring up balls throughout the day. Flashed plus speed on the base paths as well swiping two bags with ease in the fifth inning. 

Grayson Baldovin (2023 2B, Marietta, GA) Made loud contact, going 1-3 and consistently squaring up the ball regardless of where it was pitched. Ball really jumps off the bat. 

Breydon Divine (2023 SS, Winston, GA) Went 1-3 with a hard-hit single in the second inning. Showcased an advanced defensive ability at the shortstop position as well. 

Joshua Bull (2024 SS, Gainesville, GA) Consistently made hard contact going 1-3 at the plate and smoking a line drive to deep center in his second time up. Strong hands and has the ability to hit the ball wherever it is pitched.

5-Gray vs. 6-Navy Game Highlights

8/8/2020

Michael Mullinax (2024 OF, Canton, GA) had a good game at the plate going 2-4 with a double, 1 run scored, 1 RBI and a stolen base. He showed good barrel skills making consistent contact with a quick bat.

Benjamin Hamacher (2022 SS, Marietta, GA) showed well offensively going 2-3 with an RBI, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. He displayed a sound approach while making consistent hard contact in each at-bat.

Luke Orfi (2023 SS, Cumming, GA) showed good plate coverage generating good whip through the zone hitting a triple in game. He showcased his speed in game on the triple with his quick first step out of the box and can fly on the base paths. He also pitched 2 strong innings striking out 4 and his fastball sat 81-83 MPH.

Preston Murphy (2022 C, Miramar Beach, FL) had some loud at-bats in the game collecting a double and an RBI. He has an aggressive approach at the plate with intent creating good leverage driving the ball consistently. 

Benjy Tucker (2022 3B, Milton, GA) had an inside the park Home Run with an RBI and 2 runs scored. He made consistent hard contact with a fluid stroke showing the ability to go the other way with power. Also made a nice defensive play at 3rd base. 

Boston Forbes (2023 C, Marietta, GA) had four solid inning of work punching out eight of the twelve hitters he faced. Displayed an uptempo delivery and goes right at hitters pounding the zone. His fastball sat 78-83 MPH with late life and mixed in a 11/5 curveball at 72 MPH.

Tate McKee (2023 RHP, Kennesaw, GA) is another intriguing 2023 arm that had an impressive outing pounding the zone and striking out nine over four innings of work. His fastball sat 81-86 MPH with sink and arm side run and he kept hitters off balance with an 11/5 breaking ball with late bite.

3- Gold vs. 4- Green Game Highlights

Caleb Daniel (2024 C, Cartersville, GA) - displayed some pull side power with a double to the gap in his second AB while showing good athleticism and good hand-eye skills. 

Matson Grose (2021 C, Roswell, GA) - showcased his athleticism throughout the game with some good pop to the backside while moving well from first to third on a triple. 

Camden Cunningham (2024 RHP, Perry, GA) - faced the minimum in his 3 innings of work while striking out 2. He worked with good tempo and athleticism while attacking hitters with his solid fastball that had some arm side run sitting 77-81.

Caid Heflin (2022 OF, Marietta, GA) - had a good day on offense going 2 for 2 with two singles and a stolen base. He has a large, athletic build with quick hands and the ability to work the middle of the field.

Jacob Cooper (2022 C, Douglasville, GA) - showcased a good feel for his barrel and a strong swing while recording a double in his two at bats.

Michael Leone (2021 RHP, Dallas, GA) - displayed his skills on the mound, striking out 5 of the 9 batters he faced. The fastball has some cut action to it while sitting 77-80. He worked both sides of the plate with good command his fastball and 11/5 breaking ball. 

Brandon Eck (2022 RHP, Woodstock, GA) - recorded 8 of his 9 outs via the strikeout while topping his fastball at 83. He showed a quick arm and high intensity on the mound while attacking hitters and keeping them off balance with a tight 11/5 curveball.

Benjamin Norton (2021 SS, Marietta, GA) - had a good game at the plate with a 2 for 2 day showing good strength in his hands, lining singles to both sides of the field and also stealing a base

Max Beck Berendsen (2021 OF, Marietta, GA) - showcased his skills at the plate and in the field with a diving catch in center while getting up and throwing a runner out at 3rd. At the plate he displayed loose hands and a strong lower half. 

Ryder Moye (2022 LHP, Woodstock, GA) - displayed a lot of poise on the mound with a lot of funk and deception from a low 3/4 arm slot while sitting 82-85 with his FB. He attacked hitters all game, striking out 8 of the 11 batters he faced. 

Stephen Moraski (2021 RHP, Birmingham, AL) - mowed down hitters in his 3 innings of work recorded 7 of his 9 outs via the strikeout and not giving up a single hit while topping out at 87. Along with the fastball, he displayed a 11/5 curveball that broke late and had tight spin. He worked quick with good tempo and commanded the bottom of the strike zone. 

Jason Walk (2023 MIF, Acworth, GA) - had a great day at the plate going 2-3 with one double, showing loose hands and an athletic approach from both sides of the plate. He also took a base as a runner with a nice dirt ball read. 

Branton Stringer (2023 1B, Hartselle, AL) - roped a double in his last at bat showing a great approach by taking an outside fastball the other way. He had a patient approach at the plate.

Kendall Brookins (2021 OF, Fairview Heights, IL) - showcased his swing and speed with a triple in his last at bat, showing a slightly open stance and a high leg kick.

9- Royal vs 10- White Game Highlights

Andrew Bray (2022 2B, Marietta, GA)- was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored showing a good swing with strength, showing good feel for the barrel with gap to gap power.

James Snipes (2021 RHP, Woodstock, GA)- had a great day at the plate going 3 for 4 with a run scored and three stolen bases. At the plate he showed good barrel skills and displayed consistent hard contact. Showed a quick first step out of the box and good range in the outfield.

James Snipes (2021 RHP, Woodstock, GA)- has an aggressive approach at the plate, while also displaying a great eye. He has a good feel for the barrel and quick hands while collecting a double and an RBI.

Jonathan Franchi (2021 3B, Marietta, GA)- showed a quick aggressive approach and used his quick hands to barrel up a double.

Adam Brooks (2022 RHP, Woodstock, GA)- had a great outing pitching 3 strong innings on the bump, giving up only 1 hit while striking out 6 of the 10 batters he faced. His fastball sat at 83-86mph with some run and used both sides of the plate, while mixing in an 11/5 breaking ball at 74mph. 

Parker Spring (2022 LHP, Marietta, GA)- had a very impressive performance on the mound, punching out 10 of the 12 batters he faced. He came out early pounding the zone with his fastball that sat 77-80mph, that had a good downward plane with run.  He also mixed in a 1/7 curveball at 67mph that had good depth and spin. Very efficient performance.
