Purple vs Royal Game Highlights
11/3/2019
Will Wyles (2023 OF, Honolulu, HI) Wyles showed good bat speed through the zone with the ability to turn the barrel with aggression. Consistently produced loud, hard contact collecting both a triple and a double in game action. Wyles was also impressive on the mound showing good feel for the bottom of the zone with a fastball that topped at 80 mph.
Marcos Contreras (2020 RHP, Fontana, CA) The 2020 grad displayed good balance in his swing with the ability to control barrel head at contact. Contreras collected 3 hits in game action including 2 doubles.
Chaz McNelis (2023 2B, Las Vegas, NV) The Las Vegas native showed good knowledge of the strike zone with the ability to let the ball deep into the zone. Went with a pitch located outer half of the plate for a triple in his last at-bat of the game.
Matthew Rezendes (2021 1B, Long Beach, CA) The 2021 grad showed a mature approach at the plate with good feel for the barrel throughout the zone. Consistently generated sharp contact off the barrel collecting 2 hits in game action.
Orlando Arellano (2020 OF, Spring Valley, CA) Utilized a smooth, naturally lifted barrel plane that created good lift at contact. Hammered a triple to the pull side gap in his last at-bat of the game.
George Higbie (2022 C, Carmel, CA) Higbie showed a smooth, repeatable line drive barrel plane and generated good extension out front at contact. The 2022 grad picked up 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate.
Kai Purdy-Burton (2021 LHP, Montrose, CA) pitched 4 innings working quickly out on the mound. Kai shows a three pitch mix with the ability to all throw all of them for strikes. The curveball is mostly thrown to left-handed hitters and the changeup is mostly thrown to right-handed hitters, both off speed pitches are thrown with arm speed and show ability to get swings and misses. He works both sides of the plate with his fastball and shows very good athleticism on the mound with the ability to field his position.
Gray v. Navy
11/3/2019
Tommy Italia (2021 SS, Glendale, CA) had a great game at the plate going 3-for-4 with two triples, two RBI's, and a run scored. Italia does a great job of staying inside the baseball and finds leverage with his balanced toe tap trigger. Both triples were laced to his pull side.
Team Navy's William Ramos (2023 SS, Temecula, CA) went 3-for-3 on his day at the plate with three base hits. He showcased his strong quick hands by getting the barrel head out on an inside pitch in his first at bat. He creates some tension in his swing with his slight upper body coil as he loads.
Justin Baldwin (2020 1B, Los Angeles, CA) impressed on both sides of the ball, going two full innings on the hill and by doubling late in the ball game. Baldwin's double wasn't his first hard hit of the ballgame as he laced a line drive right at the centerfielder in his second at bat. His present athleticism already translates well to his game.
Ethan Felix (2021 C, Redondo Beach, CA) also doubled late in the game with a towering shot to left field that one hopped the wall. His flat barrel path that gets on plane quickly leaves him room for error and gives him a chance to lace the ball in every at bat.
Gavin Lass (2022 OF, San Diego, CA) pitched two scoreless innings giving up just one hit while fanning three. Lass was effectively pitching backwards and looked confident with his two pitch mix. He did a nice job of living down in the zone and rolled through the Team Gray line up.

Jaycee Flores (2020 RHP, La Puente, CA) Displayed a quick arm through extension with a heavy fastball that topped at 87 mph. Consistently challenged the zone early in counts with fastball and looked to use a 9/6 sweeping slider as a put away pitch. Stuck out 6 batters in 3 innings of work.
Calin Trexler (2022 OF, El Dorado Hills, CA) Showed good feel for the barrel and consistently created hard contact. Collected 3 hits in game action including a triple to deep left filed in his last at-bat.
Jayson Gadd (2021 3B, Downey, CA) Gadd continued to impress at the plate showing good barrel control throughout the zone with a linear barrel plane. Picked up two hits in game action including a double in his first at-nat.
Andruw Householder (2021 OF, Temecula, CA) Collected 2 hits in 2 trips of the plate showing a balanced, fluid swing plane. Also displayed good speed out of the box proving to be a difficult out on any ball put in play.
Maple Moody (2021 1B, Seattle, WA) Moody showed a naturally leveraged barrel plane with good strength at contact. Turned the barrel to contact well on a triple to deep left field in his last at-bat of the game.
Will Potter (2021 SS, Temecula, CA) The 2021 grad doubled to the opposite field gap in his second at bat off the game showing good plate coverage and the ability to go with pitch location.
Columbia Blue vs Gray Game Highlights
11/2/2019
Bobby Bangs (2023 RHP, Irvine, CA) Very good on the mound to start the game. Threw four innings without allowing a hit. Worked the fastball early in the outing and later went to a very good breaking ball that generated a lot of swing and miss.
Taiki Hirosaka (2020 RHP, Chiyoda-Ku, TK) Came in for three innings of relief racking up eight strikeouts. Quick arm action into a three-quarter slot. Generates hard life on the fastball up 76 MPH.
Tommy Italia (2021 SS, Glendale, CA) Collected a couple of hits in the game including a single in the first inning and a double late in the game. Clean swing mechanics on a level plane through the zone. Really stays on the ball well through the hitting plane.
Aedan Cunningham (2020 RHP, Agoura Hills, CA) Solid pitching prospect moving forward. Started the game on the mound and was lights out with the fastball up to 85 MPH. Would also mix in both a curveball and a changeup able to work both down in the zone.

Ryan Farr (2023 C, Fontana, CA) Showed good bat speed through the zone with the ability to keep his hands inside the baseball at contact. Collected 2 hits in 3 trips to the plate in game action.

Cole Clark (2022 RHP, Burbank, CA) Created solid downhill plane with a fastball that topped at 83 mph. The 2022 grad effectively worked ahead in counts with fastball before changing speeds with an 11/5 breaking ball in the low 70's. Clark worked 3 innings allowing 1 run and struck out 3 batters.
Nico Reyes (2021 3B, Murrieta, CA) Impressed while on the mound showing a running fastball that topped at 83 mph. The 2021 grad also showed the ability to deliver breaking ball in both positive and negative counts to the bottom of the zone. Reyes worked 2 shutout innings striking out 5 of 5 batters faced.

Armando (AJ) Hurtado (2022 C, Riverside, CA) Showed a knack for finding the barrel and generating sharper contact. Consistently put the ball in play collecting 4 hits, including a triple in his last at-bat of the game.
Anthony Makinster (2021 SS, Chandler, AZ) The 2021 grad showed the ability to turn the barrel to contact and generate bat speed through extension. Drove a double down the left field line in his first at-bat, turning on a fastball located on the inner half of the plate.

Brayden Thomas (2020 RHP, Pacific Palisades, CA) The 6-foot-10 2020 grad shows a highly projectable frame one the mound. Thomas effectively created downhill plane through the zone with a fastball that topped at 82 mph. Shows the potential to add velocity with continued maturity. The 2020 grad worked 4 innings, allowing 1 earned run and struck out 7 batters.

Justin Baldwin (2020 1B, Los Angeles, CA) Bladwin generated very good linear shift into contact with his lower half that produced present bat speed and strength through the zone. Looked to attack the baseball with intent and produced very loud contact off the barrel when squared.
