Event Information
Since its inception in 1996, the Iowa Fall League and Perfect Game have been innovative with how to grow baseball in Iowa.  In 2005 we created the Iowa Select Teams for the top players in Iowa.  In 2017, we'll be moving more in depth on the player development side with our Instructional League.  

Players sign up as individuals and PG separates them into teams based upon position.  In a lot of instances, players from the same high school are placed on the same team.  Each team will have a 3 hour workout on Saturdays to teach players the fundamentals of the game.  On Sundays' each team will play two games.  The goal of the Instructional League is to provide players quality instruction to improve their overall skills and tools.  Rosters and schedule will be announced on the website August 10th.  Any schedule changes and weather delays are announced on the website.  Announcements will also be made through the official league twitter handle of @SteveJamesPG

Players who want to tryout for the Iowa Select Teams need to sign up for one of the tryouts.  The Iowa Select Team tryouts are open to any player from the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 graduate classes.  The tryouts are listed on the Perfect Game website.  The dates for the tryouts are July 20, August 2, and August 5.

Games are played at various locations across Iowa.  Game and workout locations will be dictate on where the players are from to spread out and reduce travel where available.  Typically games are spread out between Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Ames, Iowa City, and the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area.  For any questions about the instructional league, contact Steve James at sjames@perfectgame.org or 319.298.2923 x 121
