2022 PG Underclass All-American Games (08/07/2022 - 08/09/2022)

East vs National Game Highlights >>

8/11/2022 11:03:01 PM

Makaio Cisneros (2024 RHP, Whitby, ON) is a long and projectable right-hander who showed 4 pitches for strikes to open the day. It's a solid fastball in the 87-88 range as it comes out easy while he sells a changeup very well in the upper-70s with some swing-and-miss dive to it off it but the feel to spin a pair of breaking balls, both with healthy shape projection, really rounds out the potential of the starter profile.

Colin Guerra (2024 SS, Olathe, KS) was on the barrel a good bit through the course of the weekend and was once again here on the final day as he got the barrel out hard from the left side and roped a triple into the corner from the left side.

Ariston Veasey (2024 C, Tyrone, GA) checks a ton of boxes in terms of tools and showed that there's a good bit of two-way talent to the profile as he kicked off his day at the dish being well-timed on a double to the pull gap before hopping on the mound and working 89-91 with a really late biting slider at 77 with near 2400 RPMs and better bite than that suggests.

Braden Booth (2024 RHP, Madison, AL) showed some of the best stuff that we've seen out of him over his 2 innings as he lived 89-91 for the look getting downhill well from a good delivery and the slider was as good of a pitch as we saw the entire event, throwing it with conviction at 82-83 with hard and late downer bite to get a ton of swing-and-miss.

Eli Driskell (2024 RHP, Mobile, AL) was good on the mound as well showing some power stuff as it's a longer arm stroke with real arm speed and the fastball is already heavy in the 88-90 range. He's got feel for a pair of breaking balls as well with a low-70s curveball and upper-70s slider and the spin really projects on the slider nearing 2600 RPMs at times.

Gavin Kelly (2024 SS, Presto, PA) was impressive with the stick the entire event and he added a couple more barrels in this game with 2 long flyouts which he could show the impressive bat speed and how well he uncoils on time with the projection to a good bit of power longer-term.

Drey Barrett (2024 SS, Deatsville, AL) seemed to make an impact all over the diamond in this look as he made an impressive barehanded backhand play at shortstop before hopping on the mound and sitting 88-90 with a good split-like diving changeup.

Beau Hollins (2024 1B, Lexington, SC) is one of the most physical players that was here and showed it as he lagged his hands hard from the left side and hit a missile of a double that got to the wall in the pull side corner in a hurry.

Paul Jones II (2024 1B, Burnsville, MN) started the final day with a bang (literally) as he got the barrel up with serious authority on an elevated fastball and banged it off the scoreboard over the right field wall, showing the explosiveness in the hands and the strength in the body as he fires everything with massive intent to create it.

Maximo Martinez (2024 SS, Hawthorne, CA) got the ball to start and was really impressive over his 2 inning look. He held 89-92 and pounded the zone with the fastball showing no fear going after hitters and while the changeup tumbles hard and plays well off the fastball, the slider was very good with a deep tunnel and late bite in the low-80s. It's an athletic profile and he made a loud impression in this look.

Thomas Maher (2024 SS, San Diego, CA) took one of the most consistent rounds of BP and it's an efficient swing and approach that translated to game action when he adjusted well and sent a liner over the right fielder's head for an easy triple.

Drew Dickerson (2024 SS, Lake Winnebago, MO) came up with the other bomb of only 2 on the event as he got the barrel up to a pitch elevated and created enough strength and separation there to send it out to a fairly deep part of left-center. He's a long and projectable athlete and there's a good deal of power upside to the profile.

Dylan Fien (2024 C, Temecula, CA) took some really mature and polished at-bats from the left side in this game as he picked up a pair of hits, one going back through the middle and the other a firm liner the other way. There's feel and strength on both sides and he handles velocity with a good bit of ease.

Session II Game Highlights >>

8/11/2022 3:07:56 AM

Alex Hernandez (2024 OF, Cumming, GA) is a long projectable athlete and he uses that length well on the offensive end as he was able to take low-90s deep in the zone and drive it up against the wall the other way for a double.

Kade Langhorst (2024 RHP, Whitestown, IN) showed some things to like as the projection comes along as he cuts the fastball well in the 83-84 range with a good bit of ease and looseness while selling a good changeup at 77 with real dive to the bottom and easily spinning in a slurve-like breaking ball with spin up over 2600 RPMs.

John Iacono (2024 RHP, Los Angeles, CA) was good with 3 pitches in his pair of innings. He worked 86-89 from a pretty steep downhill release while showing a ton of confidence in the changeup in the upper-70s from the same window and a downer breaking ball with good shape, a full mix that should intrigue recruiterson the west coast.

Dylan Fien (2024 C, Temecula, CA) is a pretty polished prospect as a whole and he showed that in game action as he showed no problem turning around 89 for a hard liner into centerfield. It's a balanced approach from both sides of the plate and he invites velocity while being able to handle really well behind the dish too.

Vaughn Neckar (2025 3B, Murrieta, CA) is one of the few 2025s that came to the Underclass AA games and he certainly didn't look out of place as he came out pumping 92-93 with really hard sink to it at times and while there's some struggles with landing the breaking ball and strikes at times, it's real arm talent with size and a big velocity ceiling.

Grady Woodward (2024 OF, Redmond, WA) made an impact on both sides of the ball under the lights as he made a fully extended hard-charging diving play on a quick sinking blooper in centerfield before coming up and putting a hard single through the infield in his very next at-bat.

Michael Furmanek (2024 RHP, Plainfield, IL) brings a really intriguing and different look to the mound. He's 6-6/180 with loads of physical projection and sinks the fastball really hard from a sidearm slot in the 87-88 range generating a ton of uncomfortable at-bats and ground ball contact when squared. He's got feel to spin a sweeping slider out of that slot and if he can get everything to click, he's got a chance to be really tough to hit at the next level.

Eric Lintelman (2024 RHP, West Chester, PA) got the ball under the lights late and was excellent in missing bats. He works in the 87-90 range with some serious action to the fastball at times and has some real dive to the upper-70s changeup but the breaking ball is the separator pitch throwing it with big intent and getting very hard late bite/tilt in the upper-70s for swing and miss.

Ishaan Khambal (2024 RHP, Fremont, CA) has been a good pitchability guy with good stuff for some time and showed it here again with all 3 pitches for strikes and big metrics. He was 88-90 for the look spinning it an impressive 26-2700 RPMs while the slider is tight at 77-79 with 2500+ spin and he gets a deep tunnel on a changeup at 83-84 with lower spin.

Cohen Gomez (2024 RHP, Anaheim Hills, CA) was good on the mound for a pair of innings and has good projection to him. He was 84-87 for the most part showing life from a high release and really gets over top of the breaking ball well getting hard vertical bite to it.

Kalen Applefield (2024 C, San Marcos, CA) was all over the barrel in this session showing all kinds of comfort against velocity and hammering some balls. He had a triple that was liner hard into the corner right by the first baseman before lifting a ball a long way to the pull side that could have gotten out in some parks. It's an explosive process and he's physical in the left-handed box.

Ross Clark (2024 RHP, Brea, CA) looks the part of a higher upside right-hander on the mound and this was one of his better looks. He was up to 89 and sat 87-88 from his higher release and the feel for both curveball and changeup gives him starter potential. It's a true vertical breaker with good shape and spin while the changeup is sold well to garner weak contact.

Cole Hansen (2024 C, Norco, CA) is an extremely physical hitter but it was the big arm that was on display here as he threw an absolute bullet on the money for a 1.88 on the watch to catch a runner at second base, one of the more impressive throws and all-around plays you'll see at this age.

Matthew Champion (2024 3B, Laguna Niguel, CA) is no stranger to performing in big spots with big stuff and it was that again. He was 88-91 with great tempo and life to the stuff while flashing good feel to spin but the changeup was a plus pitch for him all night long, throwing it to both right-handed and left-handed hitters with intent and comfort, missing a ton of bats.

Session I Game Highlights >>

8/10/2022 11:27:10 PM

Reggie Sharpe (2024 SS, Grosse Pointe Park, MI) was really impressive on Day 1 as he racked up a pair of hits, both from the left side. It's a high-end hit tool as his shorter levers allow him to be consistent with the barrel and he sprayed the field as his first was a liner the other way before a harder liner to the pull gap.

Cade Arrambide (2024 C, Tomball, TX) is one of the more established hitters at the event and he showed his ability to adjust and use the explosiveness in his hands when he had to sit back on offspeed and lined it hard into the pull corner for a double.

William Schmidt (2024 RHP, Baton Rouge, LA) turned in one of the louder outings of the day as he went right after hitters with a two-pitch mix that projects extremely well. He was up to 91 from a long power arm stroke getting downhill plane to it but the breaking ball stole the show as he spun it consistently over 2900 RPMs with hammer bite/depth and all kinds of feel for it.

Trey Snyder (2024 SS, Kearney, MO) had a couple barrels in the first session, one of which resulted in a deep flyout and the other was a hard liner into shallow outfield. It's an athletic profile with hand speed and hand strength which pairs well with the talent on the dirt.

Malachi Paplanus (2024 RHP, Lake In The Hills, IL) worked two pretty quick and efficient innings as he retired the first 5 hitters he faced and filled the zone. He was up to 88 and held the velo well while showing feel for a curveball in the 76-77 range with the sharpness to project on.

Nash Wagner (2024 RHP, Zionsville, IN) is a primary arm with lots of arm talent and good velocity with projection to more but he also generates some of the better bat speed and was able to work the barrel out hard on a double down the pull side line.

Anson Seibert (2024 RHP, Overland Park, KS) just overwhelmed hitters for his two innings as he was dominant with almost entirely fastballs. He's 6-8/230 and sat 91-93 with easy power life downhill while needing just a single good breaking ball to get a swing and miss late, spinning it at 82 with over 2600 RPMs and showing plus foundation.

Cade Oleary (2024 RHP, Wexford, PA) turned in a solid couple innings with good projection to the stuff. He sat mostly 88-89 with the fastball from a loose and clean delivery while killing spin well on the changeup and showing 2 different breaking balls with over 2300 spin giving him a strong four pitch foundation.

Blaine Rowland (2024 RHP, Plant City, FL) pounded the zone better than anybody at the event as he threw 70% strikes with already good stuff. He lived 88-91 and showed his typical good feel to spin with both a curveball and slider with the latter having over 2500 spin with frisbee shape in the low-80s.

Tyler Arnold (2024 RHP, San Diego, CA) is a primary arm but he's physical and had one of the louder hit balls of the session as he stayed on a changeup and was able to lift it up against the wall pull side for a double.

Will Sanford (2024 RHP, San Diego, CA) is a talented arm with good stuff and was overpowering hitters for the most part with the fastball as he gets pretty explosive life in the 88-91 range from a really fast arm, all while being able to spin two different breaking balls with over 2500 RPMs and all the components to project big things on.

Efren Ortega (2024 C, Sylmar, CA) put his impact strength on display as he got a bit out of position in the box and was still able to get on time with the barrel and hammer a strong liner double the other way.

Alexander Umland (2024 RHP, Los Angeles, CA) had a pair of pretty clean innings and projects as a good uncommitted right-hander. HE was 87-88 with good life to the arm side while getting downhill and showing a slider with late tilt at 76-77 as well as a curveball with more depth in the 73-74 range, both of which he throws for strikes.

USA & West BP Highlights >>

8/8/2022 5:00:00 AM

Nicholas Rodriguez (2024 C, Miami, FL) has a big, will timed move into contact and a loose, aggressive swing with big raw bat speed.  He crushed some balls to right field pulling the ball and even got impressive carry to the left centerfield gap at times.

Elijah Selga (2024 C, Chula Vista, CA) has a bigger and strong body than Rodriguez but it was much the same results from the left side of the plate.  Selga fires his hands hard while keeping them short to the ball and long and extended out front.

Jonathan Holt (2024 SS, Glen Mills, PA) has a well controlled right handed swing and sinks into his lower half well to help generate bat speed.  He worked gap to gap well with consistent barrel contact.

Angel Laya (2025 OF, San Diego, CA) is only a 2025 but has a 6-3/180 build that looks even bigger.  His left handed swing is very projectable and it's only a matter of time before he's dominating baseballs with his current swing and approach.

Caden Cuccia (2024 2B, Orcutt, CA) doesn't have the present strength that most of his peers here have but he has a quick left handed swing and a very accurate barrel.  He's going to be the one already on base when the big sluggers come to the plate.

Anthony Perritano (2024 SS, San Diego, CA) has a present strong 6-1/180 build and a pretty simple swing that he repeated well.  The right handed hitter gets plenty of jump off the barrel without selling out for power.

Efren Ortega (2024 C, Sylmar, CA) put together a solid round of line drives with a short hands drive swing, good balance and very consistent timing.  There's more power in there down the road.

Luke (LT) Taylor (2024 C, Holladay, UT) has a long and loose swing with lots of lift out front and plenty of present bat speed.  He crushed some balls hard to the warning track in deep LCF on an evening when the ball wasn't carrying well in that direction at all.

Aukai (Jaydon) Kea (2024 C, Kapolei, HI) has some of the fastest and strongest hands in all of high school baseball and the ball comes off the barrel differently as well.  It's fun to watch when he gets timed up from a very busy hand load.

Josh Hanson (2024 OF, San Bruno, CA) rivals Kea in the strength department and has a very well controlled swing he repeats well.  He gets lots of lift and carry to the middle of the field and will have foul pole to foul pole power in the future.

Joshua Hartman (2024 C, San Diego, CA) looks like a hitter with an extra strong 6-3/205 build and has a very short and direct swing for his size.  The left-handed hitter has a simple load and trigger and a pull and lift approach.

Jack Haferkamp (2024 OF, Carlsbad, CA) had one of the best barrel rounds of the evening with a very well timed swing that he repeated well.  At 6-4/185, the right-handed hitter has lots of room to grow and continue to get stronger.

East & National BP Highlights >>

8/8/2022 5:00:00 AM

Tyler Acevedo (2024 SS, Middletown, NY) is a very physical hitter and his explosiveness in the wrists and intent to work the barrel out as hard as he does produced some really hard impact to the pull side, many of which were lifted up against the wall that way.

Perry Hargett (2024 SS, Peachland, NC) is a talented in-game producer and he showed all the components in BP with a simple process, very fast hands and the strength behind impact to lift the ball really hard to the pull side when he gets leveraged out front.

Gavin Kelly (2024 SS, Presto, PA) showed alot of comfort with the barrel throughout his round as he stays inside his frame well and the looseness to the wrists allow him to spray the field with liners, especially so the other way as he stayed through some to the opposite field that carried well.

Michael Mullinax (2024 OF, Canton, GA) is established as one of the better hitters in the country already and there's comfort on both sides of the plate as he produces easy bat speed with the quickness in the wrists and can easily backspin the baseball when on time.

Gavin Braland (2024 C, Hampton, GA) has huge intent to his process and it's real hand and barrel speed with big extension through impact as he found the barrel enough to like the potential to hammer some balls in game action.

Levi Clark (2024 C, Marietta, GA) has a pretty simple process and approach that he repeats well as he uses a short move in to get good timing and gets into good impact strength without having to sell out in the lower half.

Lucas Ramirez (2024 OF, Weston, FL) is a projectable left-hander hitter with lots of looseness from the left side showing good rhythm and timing as a whole while being able to turn a longer stroke over with ease and making it easy to think there's a bunch of juice left in the profile.

Ariston Veasey (2024 C, Tyrone, GA) has some of the faster wrists and generates some of the more explosive bat speed in the country and showed it here as he got a little inconsistent with the accuracy of the barrel but flashed some really big impact to the middle with good direction.

Roberto Barreto (2024 3B, Quebradillas, PR) is one of the most physical kids in attendance and it was on display in BP as he works his timing well to get the barrel out and explodes through the baseball with heavy hands and produced all kinds of hard contact deep to the pull side.

Beau Hollins (2024 1B, Lexington, SC) has all kinds of strength to the profile which he can get into from both sides of the plate as the long and leveraged stroke is geared for getting the ball in the air and he hammered balls to the pull side from both sides of the dish.

Thomas Maher (2024 SS, San Diego, CA) took one of the most consistent rounds of the night as he was on time with the barrel on just about every swing and showed enough bat speed and overall quickness to generate some jump with a really quality hit tool there.

Alex Hernandez (2024 OF, Cumming, GA) has good size and strength to the profile and he gets synced up well for that size with a simple process that allows him to backspin the baseball with real intent to either gap.

Paul Jones II (2024 1B, Burnsville, MN) has massive strength to the profile and he fires the body hard clearing the front side with intent and having no issue hammering the baseball to the pull side with the ability to still stay on balls and go to the middle of the field with carry there too.

Dylan Fien (2024 C, Murrieta, CA) is a switch hitter with some polish to the stroke on both sides but really impressed from the right showing easy bat speed and juice from an under control approach and was consistent in backspinning the baseball a good ways to the pull side gap.

Gavin Fien (2025 SS, Murrieta, CA) took one of the most consistent rounds and was especially impressive as one of the youngest here showing maturity to the approach in staying to the middle with hard liners and has the bat speed to project big things on the profile.

California & Central BP Highlights  >>

8/8/2022 5:00:00 AM

Elijah Clayton (2024 Oak Park, CA) has really easy bat speed coming from a relaxed set up and simple process. Hit a ton hard liners to the middle of the field.

Matthew Champion (2024Laguna Niguel, CA) took an impressive round and drove balls far and hard to both gaps with regularity.

Noah Franco (2025 Downey, CA) has a smooth stroke with lift in the path and created lift to all fields during his round. There is big potential with the bat in terms of power.

Dean Moss (2025 Atherton, CA) has a ton of pop in the left-handed bat and the swing creates natural back spin and he showed lots of carry when he was on time and out front.

Derek Curiel (2024 West Covina, CA) seems to always just hit. He belted line drives to all fields with easy and natural feel for the barrel. The game comes so easy for the young left-handed hitter.

Kalen Applefield (2024 San Marcos, CA) has a strong frame with lots of strength at the point of contact from both sides of the plate. Though he has obvious physicality, he has a loose stroke and adjusts well.

Cole Hansen (2024 Norco, CA) lifted balls deep to the opposite field gap on nearly every swing. The barrel enters the zone deep and he uses a good path and holds angles to show excellent potential to hit, and hit with power.

Matthew Priest (2024 San Diego, CA) is just fun to watch roll the pole. He has big twitch and intent when he launches and the ball explodes off his bat to all fields.

Addison Klepsch (2024 Poway, CA) has an advanced approach, driving balls hard to both gaps with a simple and repeatable process.

Levi Sterling (2024 San Juan Capistrano, CA) uses his long levers to stay in the zone with good direction. He showed a good hit tool and keeps the bat vertical to project future lift.

Boston Bateman (2024 Camarillo, CA) has an extra large and strong frame and top of the scale current bat speed. The ball makes a different sound off his bat and he displayed a knack for getting the bat head out consistently.

Sam Erickson (2024 Flower Mound, TX) has real burst when he launches the barrel, turning it hard on the back to get early barrel momentum. He launched balls hard and routinely to the pull gap.

David Hogg II (2024 Grand Prarie, TX) has real twitch in the wrists and the barrel flies through contact creating a ton of back spin and carry to the pull side. He has a consistent and loud round during drills.

Cade Arrambide (2024 Tomball, TX) always shows a power stroke and did so in San Diego when he was on the mark. He can launch the ball a long way to the middle and few parks will be able to contain him when physically mature.

Eddie Peters (2024 La Crescent, MN) has a ton of projection in his long athletic frame. He has good body control and lots of whip. The barrel was very accurate and he hammered balls all of the field on Sunday.

Eddie Rynders (2024 Wind Lake, WI) has a sweet left-handed stroke, lagging the hands well with a loose release with direction. He can adjust the hands after launch to always clip the barrel with impact.

Carson Luna (2024 Houston, TX) has a relaxed and quiet process that proved to be very consistent in terms of timing and feel for the barrel. He sticks to a line drive approach that made the hit tool very apparent.

Trey Snyder (2024 Kearney, MO) has excellent hand speed and is always on the attack. He maintains barrel momentum through contact and the ball flies off the barrel to the pull side.

Nolan Treager (2024 Spring, TX)took one of the more professional rounds of the day, staying on top of the ball, with good length in the zone, and blistered liners to the middle of the field on nearly every swing.

Drew Rogers (2024 Shoreview, MN) uses his strong core to start the barrel hard and deep in the zone. The hands are fluid and he has a knack for spacing out front helping to create hard lift and back spin.
