High School Top 50: March 31

Another pair of weeks has gone by this high school season and with that we have another High School Top-50 Update. Southern states are within a few weeks of the end of the season while some northern states are just getting started this week. Through the end of the spring, we will be bringing you updates to the Top-50 along with state rankings updates coming soon.

For the first time in 2026, we have a new #1 in the country as Orange Lutheran (CA) takes over the top spot after winning the NHSI. Venice (FL) came in second place at the NHSI after a thrilling game against Orange Lutheran and comes in at #2. Previous #1 team in the country St. John Bosco (CA) rounds out the top-3 and will have a big showdown against Orange Lutheran starting tonight. Barbe (LA) boasts a 26-1 record and comes in at #4 while Corona (CA) continues to string together wins and holds down the #5 spot in this update. We have a new member inside the top-10 with Casteel (AZ) making its first appearance of the year after beat St. John Bosco last week. A pair of Texas high schools are also featured in the top-10 in The Bennett School and Aledo. Trinity (KY) rounds out the top-10 after rolling out arm after arm at NHSI and is a strong favorite to win another state title in Kentucky.

With every update we will welcome in fresh faces into the rankings and this go-around we have eight new teams inside the top-50, led by Doral Academy (FL) who breaks into the rankings at No. 33. Bishop Gorman (NV) is close behind at No. 35 after a strong start. We have three straight in the 40’s that are fresh faces as Stony Brook (NY), Notre Dame (CA), and Canterbury (FL) all break into the rankings for the first time this year. St. Laurence (IL) isn’t as new to the rankings as some as they were ranked in the preseason top-50, but they are back at No. 45. Bishop Moore (FL) is off to a fast start and comes in at No. 46 along with Siegel (TN) who debuts at No. 50 after a strong run in the first few weeks of the season.

In a season that has already had many exciting matchups across various events, we as a staff would like to highlight or “Shout-Out” notable performers along with an Uncommitted Spotlight and Team Spotlight. Uncommitted Spotlight: Mason Rosenberg, 1B, 2027, Bishop Eustace Prep Uncommitted Mason Rosenberg (2027, NJ) has been an absolute force within the Bishop Eustace lineup, as the left-handed hitting slugger is hitting .481 through eleven games including six homers. The strength has vastly improved, allowing for Rosenberg to impact the baseball with authority to all fields. Couple that with improved speed and athleticism, this uncommitted 2027 can be a welcomed addition to a class looking for offense. Defensively, he is a plus defender at shortstop with soft hands, consistent actions, and quality range. Not only should he stick at the position long term, he should excel there at the next level. Perfect Game Softball Battle for the Belt April 18-19, 2026 Des Moines, Iowa It was a cold and very windy weekend, but the girls still came out and put in their best efforts. If you wanted the place to see some of the state’s top talent, this was the tournament to be at. The 18u division was quite the slugfest! The Ankeny Centennial 18U -Kennedy team took down a tough Iowa Alliance Select-Benge team in the championship. Both teams had double digit homeruns on the weekend.
