2025 PG Sunshine Mid-South Showcase (National Showcases Qualifier)
Taevion Collier is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Gulfport, MS who attends Gulfport. Medium build with some compact strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow stance with a low hand load, quick shift into contact, has a short whippy swing, stays on plane well and repeats his swing, has bat speed and impact on contact, easy low tension swing that projects. 7.57 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense who profiles as a third baseman, has a good first step and comes and gets the ball, adjusts his glove and arm slot well, has some actions and arm strength. Took a turn on the mound, has a high leg delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot, lands on line and repeats his delivery well. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph with heavy sinking action, lots of fastball strikes. Slider had some sharpness to it, flashed a change up with potential and had a nice efficient outing. Very good student. Named to the PG Sunshine Mid-South Showcase Top Prospect List.
