2023 Sophomore National Showcase (2026 Grads)
Paddy Roth is a 2026 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends St. Patrick. Tall, strong look to him with still some room to continue adding strength onto the frame. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, side steps to a stomach high leg lift out of the windup, long and loose arm action in the back to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball opened up in the 84-86 mph range and has held that velocity throughout the outing. Throwing changeups to both right-handed and left-handed hitters right around 80 mph (1384 RPM) with heavy arm-side fading action. Also mixing in a curveball with bigger shape in the low-70s, up to 73 mph (1719 RPM). Right-handed hitter, wide base and high hands in the stance, turns the barrel over with ease, longer path through the zone with obvious strength to the pull-side. Showed the ability to get the barrel out front throughout the round. Also worked out in the outfield, step by step actions on the charge, fields the ball with one hand on the side of the frame, long arm action to a higher release, creating big carry to the bag. Fundamentally sound actions. Recorded throws up to 89 mph. Great student. Committed to Illinois.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
