Mason Carr is a 2029 C/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Pike Road, AL who attends Trinity Presbyterian School. Medium, high waisted frame with plenty of room to add strength. Recorded a 7.60 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that started from a one-knee stance before using a more traditional side-saddled stance. Receives softly before using deliberate footwork out of the crouch and short midline transfer to get into throwing position. Recorded arm strength up to 71 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporated a short leg lift into balance before using a medium stride out to front foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 74 mph from a compact 3/4 arm slot. Flashed developing feel for spin with slower curveball that showed gradual depth to it. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, even base with a tight hand set and small leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half mechanics to create bat speed, flashed best impact to the pullside and has strength in his hands. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
