Christian Martinez is a 2023 C/1B, 2B with a 5-10 143 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Solorio. Medium frame with slender build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.79 seconds. Hits from spread stance, even base with relaxed posture, quick and compact stroke from high hand set, linear plane with solid bat speed, did a nice job of finding the barrel, good barrel skills. Primary catcher, high narrow-based set, simple mechanically, gets tied up in length of arm stroke, repeated well, clocked up to 71 mph on throws. Also took infield reps, deep funnel between feet, shows quick feet on gather and turn, took a clean and consistent round, clocked up to 74 mph across the diamond. Good student.
