2025 PG Sophomore National Showcase (2028 Grads)
Ethan Smith is a 2028 RHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Sanford, FL who attends Lake Mary. Long limbed athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Works from a full wind up with a short side step start and a belt high leg raise, compact arm action to a high 3/4's release point, repeats his mechanics well and throws consistent strikes. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, will cut at times and fade at others. Threw a hard slurve type breaking ball with good spin and promising bite as his breaking ball, also threw a change up with cutting action as well. 7.02 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, showed his arm strength well from a long and loose arm action and made good throws, aggressive coming through the ball. Right handed hitter, sets up with high hands and a inward toe tap trigger, gets some coil in his lower half, was on time, can get downhill at times but flashes some power potential. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
