Ashby Rayburn is a 2027 C/RHP, MIF, OF with a 5-6 135 lb. frame from Canton, MS who attends Germantown. He has a smaller frame with a thicker build and plenty of physical development ahead of him. Ran the sixty yard dash in 8.49 seconds. Primary catcher that starts with a high set up and has a low transfer. He has longer steps when gaining ground towards second, so staying online and being quicker with his feet can help him shave time off his pop time. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a knee to belt leg kick and has dip and drive back leg mechanics. He has a shorter stride and lands slightly closed off, giving a crossfire look to opposing hitters. He has a medium arm action and throws from a high 3/4 slot. He has good rhythm on the mound and repeats his delivery well. He threw only fastballs in his outing, filling up the zone and creating weak contact. He showed nice athleticism also, making easy work of two weak ground balls back to him. Also worked out in the infield, working through his throws well. Right-handed hitter that starts in an even stance that is slightly open with low hands that are away from his body. He uses a leg lift trigger for timing. He has a longer swing that is flat through the zone, creating nice line drives when he is on time. He made his best contact when working back up the middle and into the pull gap. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
