Owen Duncan is a 2029 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-0 166 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Covenant Day. Medium frame with a lean, athletic look and the type of body that will handle a lot more strength and muscularity. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.32 seconds. Primary position IF, showing good range laterally and first step quickness to get into angles appropriately. Glove work is on spot and showed nice adjustability to unusual hops and soft actions overall. Standard arm action working through a high 3/4 arm angle creating throws up to 86 mph across the diamond. Reps from the outfield as well, using similar mechanics and making accurate one-hop throws back to bags. Secondary RHP, with a refined delivery using a chest high leg lift to lead him down the mound making foot strike in line with good posture. Quick arm accelerating through a high 3/4 arm angle and producing a riding FB up to 84 mph that set the stage for two quality off speed pitches. Throws low-70s slider with conviction showing late break and ability to land for strikes. Good fade and depth to the changeup putting the finishing touches on a quality repertoire. RHH working from a wider start, high handset, high back elbow before using small stride to get moving. Gets to the barrel with regularity and stayed on time allowing him to extend through impact. Some loft to his contact that will play even better with added strength. Swings got better throughout the BP round showing nice offensive projection. Interesting two-way skillset to follow and is an excellent student as well.
