2022 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Jawon Springs is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Mobile, AL who attends Baker High School. Springs Ran a 7.05 Sixty Yard Dash. He has a tall athletic frame with some strength and plenty more protection going forward in it. Primary outfielder with a longer arm action through the back with some effort at release shows accurate throws to the bases with carry on the ball. He fields the ball to the side with some aggression while catching in cleanly. On the mound Jason showed a very easy athletic operation coming from a short compact high 3/4s arm slot with a fastball that topped out at 84mph. He works with a low leg lift as he collapses on the backside at times.The fastball showed good arm speed and some heaviness to it with late running life down in the zone. Two pitch mix Springs mixed in a sharp 12-6 shaped breaking ball that sat in the high 60s with plenty of bite and depth that he was able to throw in the zone any time he liked. Right handed hitter which start with a wide even foot base with a low leg lift trigger. At load his hands shift downward while hitting the ball to all fields. He Showed some bat speed with plenty of strength to the pull side as well. Springs was named to the 2022 Deep South Prospect Showcase Top Team List.
