Payton Bryant is a 2024 C/RHP/IF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Douglas, GA who attends Coffee County. Long and lean young build with lots of room to get stronger. 7.27 runner in the sixty. Has a good athletic set up behind the plate defensively, comes out of his crouch well, solid fundamental footwork that he repeats well, long arm action and exchange can be shortened moving forward but has plenty of arm strength and projects well, strong game throws.. Right handed hitter, hits from a open bent knee stance with a big inward turn, has some lower half drift into contact, timing intensive swing that can leave him late at times, swings hard and has some bat speed with middle of the field to opposite field contact. Also pitched, works from a full wind up with good direction down the mound, low effort release. Fastball worked up to 83 mph, works down in the strike zone consistently with some run and sink on occasion, challenged consistently with his fastball and threw lots of strikes. Also threw a soft curveball and occasional change up but was primarily a fastball pitcher. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine Atlantic Coast Top Prospect List.
