Ashten Ballew is a 2026 SS/2B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Katy. Lean athletic middle infielder's build. 6.65 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has quick feet and attacks the ball well, gets his glove down early, compact arm action with some arm strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a wide base with a small leg raise trigger, simple and repeatable load and trigger, has quick hands and handles the barrel well, pull side line drive contact, bat speed will continue to improve as he gets stronger. Good student, verbal commitment to Arizona.
