2024 High School All State Select Championship (2027-2028 Grads)
Cade Morris is a 2027 RHP/UT with a 5-10 151 lb. frame from Iowa Colony, TX who attends Angleton. Features a slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. In the OF, showed developing actions. Slower first step but got around and worked through the ball decently well without breaking momentum. Fielded it clean and out front where glove was displayed early. Slower to release where he used a couple extra shuffles and a glove tap before working into throws. Arm stood out, displaying above avg. strength for his level where throws were low/on-line flashing some carry. In the INF, showed feel to how to move on the dirt. Lighter feet that play through it well while also getting set into good posture. Hands show softness at reception with clean exchange. Similar slower release using extra shuffle and at times a glove tap. Looked like a MIF playing 1B during that defensive round where he certainly has a chance to stick up the middle. At the plate, sits in a wider stance and uses a simple swing operation. Smaller forward move where there is some rhythm/waggle to the hands they get the barrel into a strong launch. Bat path showed more direct at entry that leveled out into contact. Inconsistent barrel feel but maintained a middle of the field approach with his better batted balls with some avg. bat speed for his level. On the mound, showed an intriguing delivery. Some effort/tempo to the operation but deception as well. Smaller lift with some early push off rubber. Exclusive from the stretch with some crossfire direction down the mound. Shorter/compact arm action that gets to a normal 3/4 slot at release. Ran the FB up to 80 that exhibited some standard 4S shape. Mixed in a mid-upper 60s SL that had some sweeper traits and produced some whiffs. Mixed in a developing CH as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
