2025 Scorpions (TX) Prospect Showcase (2028-2030 Grads)
Griffin Zipter is a 2029 3B/RHP/C with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Concordia Lutheran. Strong and compact build for his age. Right handed hitter with a slight wrap and high back elbow, showing good strength to the wrists and hand speed through the zone. Open stance with promising impact potential—contact comes off hot when he gets extended out front and turns fully. Defensively, he shows versatility across the diamond. At catcher, he’s clean with transfers and a short slot; arm works well. In the infield, he plays with intent, works through the ball, and has a higher slot with some strength to throws. Feet are heavy at times but he’s gaining ground and building consistency. On the mound, he works from a high leg lift with a compact arm stroke and throws from a high 3/4 slot. Shows a solid feel for the fastball with spin and is developing a true shape on the breaker. There's feel and intent across the board and room to keep trending upward.
