Whit Vandygriff is a 2027 RHP/3B, OF with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Lutheran South Academy. Features a medium, athletic frame with a strong lower half and still plenty of room to add. Has a three-pitch mix on the bump that include fastball, curveball and changeup. Has a stretch only operation with a belt high leg lift and slight crossfire. Stays balanced and repeats with developing arm speed. Locates the fastball in all four quadrants. Does a nice job hiding the changeup and keeping it deceptive. More to come with growth and development. In the outfield, Vandgygriff shows the ability to work through the baseball, with a quick transfer and throws out of a low three-quarter arm slot with one hop accuracy. On the infield, he has a nice set up and shows the glove. Quick mover laterally and can make all the plays. Threw from multiple slots and showed the ability to stay accurate while on the run. Wide stance at the plate with some bat speed that produced some gap shots to the pull side. Stays on a level plane and connected with more to come. Ran a 7.60 Sixty Yard Dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
