Jay Bhatt is a 2024 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-0 168 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Woodward Academy. Medium, athletic frame with room to continue to add strength. Recorded a 8.70 sixty. Right-handed hitter with a square base and a hanging leg lift trigger stride into square. Direct, level barrel path, looks to get the barrel out and impact to the pull-side. Should continue to grow into pop. Primary right-handed pitcher works from the stretch only with belt high lift and a high three-quarters release. Works directly down the slope with command around the zone. Fastball up to 69 mph with spin rates up to 1667 RPM. Curveball in the low-60's with spin rates up to 1697 RPM and a slider up to 62 mph with spin rates up to 1703 RPM. Also threw a changeup in the mid-60s (1201 RPM) and a knuckleball in the low-60s. Secondary third baseman showed deliberate footwork with good drive from the lower half on throws. Had good accuracy on throws up to 70 mph. Also worked out in the outfield, has solid lateral movements with one hand gather on the side, long arm swing to a high three-quarters release. Had good accuracy to the bag in the outfield, as well. Excellent student.
