Amari Reynolds is a 2027 SS/RHP/C/OF with a 5-10 168 lb. frame from Gresham, OR who attends Sam Barlow. Medium athletic build with some compact strength. 6.65 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense with lots of defensive versatility. Has bouncy athletic actions in the middle infield with soft and smooth hands, full arm action that he can shorten, range is his best present defensive infield tool. Similar athletic actions and tools in the outfield, works through the ball well and has solid footwork into his throws, gets on top of his throws well with low and accurate trajectory. Still developing his catching actions and fundamentals, obvious athleticism but needs repetitions. Switch hitter at the plate, much better from the left side at present, easy fluid swing with good bat speed and simple and repeatable mechanics, lived on the barrel left handed with hard gap to gap contact, tends to pull off right handed with an inside downhill swing plane. Also pitched, works from a well controlled side step delivery with some coil over the rubber, full arm swing to a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was up to 84 mph with big arm side running life at times, also threw a short slider in the mid-70's. Good student. Named to the PG Uncommitted Select Games Top Prospect List.
