Michael Catalano is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 5-7 176 lb. frame from Oriskany, NY who attends Rome Free Academy. Medium, square shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout. Ran an 8.47 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, abbreviated delivery on the mound, slight gather at top of delivery with a lean back; shorter arm action through the back side working to a three-quarters release point. Pitched to contact and able to collect outs, fastball topped out at 75 mph with subtle life through the zone and mixed a curveball up to 66 mph with short vertical break, will continue to develop with maintained arm speed; filled the zone well for three innings of work. Third base actions in the infield, shorter footwork on the charge, shows ability to drop slot when needed, accurate throws across the diamond with similar short arm action, tends to open front side early on the release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, simple mechanics, gets rotational at times and onto front side early. Full swing path through the zone, looks to create lift out front, best when getting the barrel extended, shows the ability to go the other way. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
