2020 Great Lakes Prospect Showcase
Julius Kass is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Ann Arbor, MI who attends Pioneer. He ran a 7.84 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a large physical frame. He sat 80-84 mph with his fastball that had some cutting lift at times. The fastball misses glove side at times as his arm gets ahead of his body a pulls it a bit, he showed a slider in the low 70's with some sweeping bit to it. In the outfield he showed solid arm strength topping out at 84 mph, he works aggressively to the ball and does a nice job carrying his momentum into his throws. At the plate he starts with an even base from the right side, shifts his hands back with weight into the load, uses a leg lift trigger to time up the swing with some strength in the swing, will drive the ball more consistently wet he gets everything timed up.
