2024 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Alex Curran is a 2026 RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Stratford, PE who attends Clarkson Secondary. Large frame with both strength and athleticism present throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher, utilizes an abbreviated delivery from the first base side of the rubber with a leg lift just above the belt. Longer takeaway through the back before releasing from a low three-quarters slot. Showed impressive command of his three-pitch mix, moving it around the zone efficiently. Fastball showed arm-side run, ultimately peaking at 84 mph with spin up to 2204 rpm. Slider had firm 11-5 movement to it with spin up to 2134 rpm. Splitter showed big tumble action late and killed tins of spin; has a good feel for throwing it. Projects for an uptick in velocity as he continues to physically mature. Secondary third baseman, works through the baseball with sound footwork. Shows the glove early. Softness in the hands with easy arm speed. Delivered accurate throws and recorded arm strength up to 82 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, starts in an even stance with high and tight hands. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing and works into a slightly uphill stroke. Gets drifty at times. Produced well-struck liners to both gaps when timed up. Has some present strength in the hands with the ability to work the entire diamond. Recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 7.26 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
