Pedro Mercado is a 2020 RHP/ with a 6-1 166 lb. frame from Barranquitas, PR who attends Pedro Colon Berdecia. Tall and athletic frame with room to fill, highly projectable build. Only pitched at the event, primary righthanded pitcher, starts his windup with a side step up to a high leg lift, takes his arm back to a long arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, strides online and stays in good direction to the plate with his lower half, throws with intent and the ball jumps out of his hand. Fastball is mostly straight while flashing sinking action when released fully out in front, heater topped out at 82 mph, mixed in a slider with short-breaking action, best command came when on time with his arm coming through the throwing motion and releasing the ball with full extension out in front.
