2026 PG Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Koleby Benson is a 2027 1B/RHP/IF with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Trenton, FL who attends Newberry. Extra strong and physical build, pretty mature physically. Ran a 7.86 60-yard dash. Right handed hitter, even feet, open base with high hands, leg lift trigger, some noise in the hands during the load but creates space and stretch, has plenty of strength and pull-side impact, leverages well at times, launch angle variance but has strength and raw power in the tank. Primary first baseman, good arm strength across, fine hands out front and moves well in space, good mover coming in and coordinated for size. Took reps in the infield, developing foot speed and backhand feel, longer strides, more suited for first but has arm strength for the left side. Right-handed pitcher, leverages the takeaway, three-quarters slot, gets on top and works behind the baseball well, normal stride length, moves well for his size and looseness in the arm, showed a heavy fastball, some sink to the change and showed in R/R, tight 11/5 spin to the curveball. Physical, strong kid. Good student. Named to the PG Preseason High School Showcase Top Prospect List.
