2024 Michigan Indoor Showcase
Andrew Mahoney is a 2026 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Novi, MI who attends Detroit Catholic Central. Primary left-handed pitcher with an athletic frame and strength to boot as well. Throws from an extended high 3/4 slot with a quick arm. Arm really rears back a bit coming full circle into a high leg raise to chest. Comes down and in line quickly with good drive off the back leg. Arm also gets extended well downhill. Pounded the zone with his fastball ramping it up to 87 with heavy late biting arm side run. Fastball was overpowering at times. Sequenced well with a disgusting 10-4 shaped curve with extra late bite and great depth. Could locate all pitches well around the zone. Curve showed sharpness to the break and was located well. Also played first base using a two hand gather. Showed good feel around the bag and could move around it athletically. Made strong throws across the diamond up to 81. Also ran a 7.48 sixty. Right-handed hitter with a wider base uses a small leg lift trigger for timing and rhythm. Gets into the front side well and impacts the ball up the middle. Showed some feel to launch as well. Good student. Also named to the Top Prospect list.
