LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2022 California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Tyler Jepsen is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-11 159 lb. frame from Trabuco Canyon, CA who attends Aliso Niguel. Features an average, high-waisted build with room to add more. Primary righthanded pitcher. Uses a semi-windup delivery with a belt high leg kick. Drop and drive mechanics get into the lower half well. Moves well down the mound. Displayed a clean arm action out of a 3/4 slot. Gets good extension out front. The delivery is repeated well. The fastball sat 71-76 on a downhill plane through the zone. Paired it with a curveball in the upper-50’s. The offering showed big, sweeping action across the plate. Also showed a mid-60’s changeup with some fading action. Has good strike throwing ability overall. Pitches should get sharper as the frame and mechanics develop further. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a square stance with a wide base setup. A toe tap timing mechanism shifts weight well onto the backside. Displayed a linear bat path with the ability to use the entire field. More power should come as strength is added. Ran a 7.99 60-yard dash. Good student.
