2022 WWBA Summer Workout Showcase (July 19)
Tate Johnston is a 2026 SS/RHP, MIF, OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Spanish Fort, AL who attends St. Paul’s Episcopal School. Showed above average speed with a 6.63 second sixty. Primary short stop with a young athletic build, showing length on the frame to fill out moving forward. Does a nice job getting around the baseball with quick footwork receiving the ball out front and showing carry across the diamond with projectable arm strength. Works through the ball well in the outfield getting to a higher arm slot with easy carry on the throws topping out at 84 mph. Left-handed hitter, uses a hovering leg lift trigger. Showed good bat speed getting to extension out front with flashes of lift to the pull side at his best with some jump off the barrel.
