Jake Phan is a 2023 OF/RHP/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Wake Forest, NC who attends Wake Forest. Slender young build. 7.56 runner in the sixty. Is aggressive to the ball in the outfield and has confident actions at the ball, gets his glove down early and has a good exchange and release, developing arm strength and makes accurate one hop throws. Also plays some first base. Right handed hitter, hits from a balanced straight stance with a busy but consistent hand load, short hands drive swing, works the middle of the field with line drive contact, simple and consistent approach that maximizes contact. Also pitched, big side step start with an over the top arm slot and big upper body lean off to let his arm through. Topped out at 70 mph on his fastball to go with a downer curveball, threw lots of strikes with both pitches and competed well. Excellent student.
