Mason Murdock is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Kannapolis, NC who attends Northwest Cabarrus. Large and physically advanced frame. Ran an 8.33 second 60 yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, pitches exclusively from the stretch, takes his arm back to an online arm action up to an over the top arm slot, stays mostly inline to the plate upon release, takes a short stride dow the mound, fastball topped out at 83 mph with his heater that is mostly straight, mixed in a curveball with depth and varying shape depending on release, flashed a changeup with some life as well. Secondary first baseman, fields the baseball out in front while bending at the waist, young footwork and exchange at the bag. Righthanded hitter, front hip opens early into swing, backside hitter, long swing plane with a feel for the barrel. Outstanding student. Named to 2019 Sunshine Southeast Top Prospect List.
