2020 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Matthew Lynch is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Rising Sun, MD who attends Rising Sun. Long and lanky frame with good physical projection. Ran a 7.28 second 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, works with high effort and good intent to the plate through an over the top slot that creates good downhill angle. Creates heaviness to the fastball up to 80 mph while also having good feel for a pair of secondaries in a changeup with late depth to it and a curveball out of mostly 12 to 6 shape for strikes. Also worked out at first base with athleticism to actions, fields it out front and turns well with good carry on accurate throws across. Left-handed hitter, uses a leg lift trigger and long stride into contact, long extension to get the barrel head out working to all parts of the field on a line drive swing plane. Good student.
