Richard Alvarez II is a 2025 SS/RHP, UT with a 5-6 125 lb. frame from Odessa, TX who attends Odessa. Recorded a 6.92 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a young frame and developing build. Quick feet with solid footwork moving around the dirt. Clean funnel out front to mid-body exchange. Athletic actions moving around with throws across the diamond at 76 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher working in a direct line down the slope from a stretch position starting point. Slow lift to high belt with quick arm action from a 3/4 slot. Controls the zone with fastball up to 77 mph (1917 RPM), curveball with depth at 59 mph (1827 RPM) and slider with slurve action at 63 mph (1981 RPM). Switch-hitter with a slightly open stance from the left side. Inside-out swing working the middle-to-opposite field. Narrow base slightly open from the right side with more impact through the middle of the field. Controls the barrel from both sides with increased impact as he matures into frame. Excellent student.
