Andrew Nixon Jr is a 2029 SS/RHP/C with a 5-9 135 lb. frame from Kennesaw, GA who attends Harrison. Recorded a 7.69 second sixty yard dash time. High-waisted frame with a lean build. Primary shortstop with soft hands and range and agility. Solid arm and handled the slow well. Secondary outfielder moves well and comes and gets it with the glove work out front and gets ride of it with a medium in-line arm path. Also worked out at catcher during defensive workouts. Works from a side straddle stance with a step and replace with a direct mid-line transfer with accurate throws. Also threw an inning on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works from a full windup with a small side-step into a chest-high leg kick and a shorter stride that lands in-line with drop-and-drive mechanics. The hands start at the belt and rises up to the back shoulder before separating into a long arm action into a three- quarter arm angle. The fastball (1837 RPM) was low-to-mid-70s and topped out at 75 and showed a curveball (1550 RPM) with 11-5 shape and two-plane depth when he gets on top of it. Right-handed hitter starts from a wider stance and a high handset with a high back elbow, utilizes a small toe-tap trigger. Inside path to the ball with some life to his actions. Intriguing player with some two-way upside. Excellent student.
