Evan Ward is a 2023 RHP/2B/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Whiteville, NC who attends West Columbus. Medium frame with a lean build and plenty of room to fill. Ran a 7.82 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, works a slow and deliberate operation, long arm circle in the back to an almost over the top arm slot, drives down the mound well, creates some sink to the fastball garnering contact in the zone while mixing in a curveball with short depth. Also worked out in the outfield with quick feet and a hard attack to the ball, funnels it cleanly to a compact arm action with developing arm strength. Righthanded hitter, sets up open in stance, works on a longer slightly uphill swing path with looseness to the hands and good projection as more strength is added. Great student.
