Derrick Walker is a 2024 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Deltona, FL who attends Pine Ridge. Nice athletic build with plenty of physical projection. 7.58 runner in the sixty. Moves well laterally on defense in the middle infield, has good lower half balance and actions, has some feel moving through the ball, arm works well with projectable arm strength as he gets stronger. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a deep hand load to start his swing, swings hard and is looking to impact the ball, can shorten his swing until his physical maturity kicks in for more barrel control. Also pitched, 3'4's arm slot, tends to land open with his front side creating some inconsistency. Fastball topped out at 70 mph, did a good job of repeating his mechanics on his curveball and threw strikes with it.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
