Jacob Nations is a 2024 RHP/3B, IF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Vance, AL who attends Brookwood. A bigger and thicker frame. Ran an 8.64 60-yard dash. A primary right-handed pitcher who worked from the first base side of the rubber. Uses a smaller rocker step as he starts the delivery, getting the knee above the belt on the leg kick. He had a deliberate delivery that works into a snappy release. Lands slightly open, finishing over his front foot with medium arm action. Pitches from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Had some whip to the arm on his delivery as well. Arm slot created some arm-side run on the fastball, which worked 79-80 mph and spun up to 2,050 RPMs. Paired that with a 12-6 breaking curveball that was in the mid- to upper-60s while spinning up to 2,387 RPMs. Also threw the breaker with some 11-5 shape showing more horizontal break. Has a good foundation on the mound and room to continue improving. He's a right-handed hitter who showed off a high-hand setup during his round of BP. Got the hands through the zone with the ability to lift the baseball showing. Had an inward drift as he strides through contact. Strength showed during his round of BP. Picked up 2 base hits during the games as well. Worked out as an infielder during the defensive portion of the showcase workout. Made the plays well, getting to the ball and showing a smooth funnel through the throws. Throws up to 79 mph and accurate to the bag, lower flight but carried to the bag. Had a corner infield look to his actions. A good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
