2022 Southeast Prospect Showcase
Colin Oates is a 2025 OF/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Hoschton, GA who attends Buford. Colin has something special on the mound with an electric fastball that explodes out of his hand had shows some sinking action late. When he is able to develop consistency in the zone he is going to be special. His curveball is very sharp with a 12/6 action, and the changeup has some extreme speed separation and downward plane. Colin also shows some good ability to play the outfield with his strong arm, accurate throws and good awareness to the baseball. Offensively he has an average bat that shows ability to be a better contact hitter than anything. The bat path is loose and dips under the baseball more times than not, but showed some line drive capability. Colin is an excellent runner posting a 6.91 time in the 60yd dash. Colin was named to the 2022 Southeast Prospect Top Team List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
