Jarren Purify is a 2023 SS/2B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Detroit, MI who attends University Liggett. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and plenty of fast-twitch muscle, present strength with additional room to fill moving forward. Excellent runner, posted a 6.41 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athleticism and twitch play in actions, sound footwork and moves well laterally while accelerating through the ball into release, clean glove skills to either side and shows solid arm strength and carry across the diamond, repeats actions well. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open base, shows fast hands with a direct path to the ball. Contact oriented approach, consistent line drive contact off of the barrel and turns it well through the zone. Creates stretch in swing and can work both gaps with comfort, best present jump to pull side, nice tools on both sides of ball. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Clemson.
