Lucas Steele is a 2022 C/1B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Hoover, AL who attends Hoover. Ran a 7.27 second 60 yard dash, Primary catcher, starts with a compact set up, receives the ball out front, gets high in the throwing position at times, does a nice job getting on top of the ball with accurate throws that translated to the game with multiple runners caught stealing. As a switch hitter, from the right side, starts with a spread stance, does a nice job of loading his weight on the back side, bat path showed some lift through the hitting zone. from the left side, starts with a hanging leg lift, the bat path showed some fluidity, with intent to get the ball in the air. Excellent student.
