Will Armstrong is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Des Moines, IA who attends Roosevelt. Medium frame with a slender build and room to fill out. Ran a 7.59 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary shortstop. Fields out front with smoothness to glove work. Moves well with range working in both directions. Sticks the backhands and works through the ball and towards the bag. Makes accurate throws topping out at 77 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a wide stance. Utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing. Works the middle of the field as well as the pull side through a line drive plane. Will control the barrel at times. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a front turn delivery into a leg lift to the belt. Lands slightly closed off with a short stride down the mound. Quick and compact arm action in the back and into a compact three-quarter release. Straight fastball topping out at 77 miles per hour. Solid secondary pitch in a cutting changeup. Will also mix in a sweeping curveball with a 10-to-4 shape. Very good student as well.
